    Gunsmithing Scope base bedding issues

Yeah, the only problem is there are no smiths around here(that I know of) that do this type of work.

    Gunsmithing Scope base bedding issues

I did the rear of the base. I plugged the rear holes in the base and receiver and just snugged the front 2 base screws. I figured out the issue anyways, if I snug the front base screws and look through the rear base holes they are off to the left side of the receiver threads. I have to start...

    Gunsmithing Scope base bedding issues

So I'm bedding my new Farrell G force scope base to my Savage 110FP using Devcon, and I've run into an issue. After the bedding cures I pop it loose and clean off the rifle and base of all the release agent (kiwi shoe polish) and play-doh. I go to mount the base and after it's torqued I look at...

    Aics 300wm magazines

I have a Xlr evolution that will be here Thursday and I was going to order a 5 and 10 round mag for it. I was the wondering if any of you guys have issues with the 300wm 10rd mag being too long? Most of my shooting will be done prone.

$1500 budget rifle other than Savage/Rem

you can get a Howa barreled action from Buds, it has a 24'' varmint barrel in .308 for $450. then drop it in an XLR chassis and you should have a decent shooter for under your budget.

    Is anyone else worried?

I'm 26 so I guess I'm young. I know what you guys are saying though, I have gotten to the point where I don't go to the range with any of my peers because they care more about taking pictures and video (with the guns) for facebook then they care about sending lead down range. it downright...

    My Old Mauser 98

what the hell I'll post a few pics of my 98. I just got done cerakoting the action(inside & out), the barrel, and the bolt. stuff is amazing bolt cycles really smooth now.

Mauser sporterized to 30-06, can I update?

I have a 98 mauser chambered in 300WM it also wears a Shilen barrel. Mcmillan inlets for mausers and CDI is going to make bottom metal to fit long action aics mags. Farrell also makes a nice 20 moa base.

Did I screw up and buy the wrong R700?

I agree with the above. you could try to free float the barrel and retorque the action and see how it does with match/hand loaded ammo.

Shot my Rooney Rifle, and I survived!!!!!

good to hear you survived. hopefully your smith doesn't find anything interesting during the rebarrel process.

Did I screw up and buy the wrong R700?

without knowing your background why did you pick 300WM? with a pencil thin barrel and a tupperware stock that thing has to have some kick. whats the rest of the setup (optic, base, rings) what ammo were you using? if all you wanted was a 1k yard rifle you could have achieved it with a lesser...

    Gunsmithing Cerakote coming off

Does anyone here have a picture of their cerakoted bolt after it's been used for a bit? I was thinking of picking up 4oz of OD to do a couple things including my bolt, just seeing if it's that much better then what I coat with now (KG).

    Scope Cant

can you tell if you scope base or action is canted?

    Catastrophic Failure

My 300WM is marked .308 because because it's made with a .308 blank. the smith had to stamp 300 WIN MAG. post pics of the area's Moses mentioned
