Signs of case head separation after 5 firings?

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not talking about 308. I'm experiencing this with 30-06 brass. I assume the procedures you laid out apply.

Signs of case head separation after 5 firings?

I'm using Lapua 30-06 brass and FL sizing it in a bushing die to give me 0.001-0.002 should bump. I'm firing it in a bolt gun. I noticed some abnormal marks on the case and decided to investigate. It was down toward the case head and only on about half of the case. I cut one open and sure...

First time reloading for a semi auto and the primer blew out.

Yes, that includes gas guns. Have you tested to see if you're getting any bullet movement during chambering? If you're not, then you're good. If you are, you need more neck tension. I use a standard Lee FL sizing die for my 308 gas gun loads. I used a drill, some green scratch pad, and some...

Did I over anneal my brass? help!

Sounds like you did it right to me. The brass will be softer once it's annealed and won't have as much spring back as before. Hence the smaller measurements. Wait until you see what happens to your group size. You'll be happy.

Just did my first OCW & I need help analyzing it

I think you computed your ES and SD wrong. There's no way the SD should be a higher number than the ES. And I'm gonna call BS on a .5 SD and a 0 ES. Sorry. What are you shooting? Rifle and component combo?

Test Results: Accuracy/Precision of Annealed, Non-Annealed, COAL to Magazine Length and ti

Very cool test! I enjoyed reading that and it really enforces the importance of annealing. I was a little confused though when you kept referring to the test as "annealed once fired cases" when you say you were using cases that have been fired 5 times.

Who makes the best annealer...? Why?

I hate you guys! You're going to make me buy a Bench Source. How much $$$ are they going for these days?

When to use expander mandrel on semiauto

I would use it after. You can use it to set your desired neck tension while you're rounding out the mouths. I polished mine down to 0.220 and it gives me plenty of neck tension and I don't need to crimp.

    Sinclair Chamber Length Gage question

So I got the Sinclair Chamber Length Gage for my rifles. I followed instructions and measured the chambers for my GAP-10 in 308 and my Rem 700 in 30-06. The GAP-10 measured 2.041 and the Rem 700 measured 2.529. My question is, how much should I subtract from these measurements to get my...

What powder is in Federal Gold Medal Match?

Although it may be true, I call BS on that canister grade crap. I think that's just some fairy dust marketing stuff they tell reloaders so we keep buying their bullets.
