    Rank .308 Brass Brands

Guess I should have asked is "FC" the same as "Federal" in it's characteristics as listed in the list at the beginning of this thread.

When picking up "Federal" brass, what headstamp are you looking for? FC or "Federal" ?

Prototypes complete - final product in cherry wood - need opinions on finish

That's my 3d printer "heavy table top" scrap piece I had laying around. Seems to keep the 3d printer smooth when it's doing it's thing.

Prototypes complete - final product in cherry wood - need opinions on finish

I used Tru-Oil. Probably 8 - 10 coats each, 400 sanding in between. Pretty happy with these. I'll see how they shoot on Saturday.

Prototypes complete - final product in cherry wood - need opinions on finish

Completed my prototypes for my Rem 700 action and Savage MkII FV. Made the first ones in pine (obviously prototype) Making second set now (cnc) in ten year old aged cherry that is laminated in .38" slices. I'm trying to decide which direction to go on finish - Tru-Oil (linseed oil) or...

    Homemade Adjustable Cheek Rest

Does anyone have any "real" data on groups shot with a wood laminate vs composite stock? I'm really curious if you make a laminate stock rigid enough and seal it with BLO and poly, shouldn't it keep it's properties no matter the weather? I like making things, so it's not about just buying...

Powder Temperature and MV Variation Methodology

@GeoJoe So from a GeoBallistics App standpoint, you only use one profile? one for 80-100 F , and just mentally adjust for that POI drop on cold days? or do you keep a separate profile for that temperature?

Powder Temperature and MV Variation Methodology

I wonder if you kept your ammo against your body (on belt perhaps or in pocket), it would be around 80 F or so, would that make your 80-100 F data the correct data for that December morning cold, cold shot? If you place your round in the chamber just prior to taking the shot, the round would...

    Strelok Pro question

if you shoot it at 1000 and it drops (say 9 mils) and you dial in 9 on your elevation and if you shoot 6.4 mils at 700 yards, then you have an arc documented (with whatever the current weather /pressure is), then on your calculator/software, if strelok, under truing it will ask for range and...

    Strelok Pro question

Strelok will do either BC or velocity truing. But like LowLight said, you are basically programming the calculator to match reality.

    Strelok Pro question

Once I trued my data to 1000 yards, the "arc" it predicts worked fine for me at distances from 200-1000. 308, i4320 43.5 grns, 178 gr Amax, 26" 1:10 criterion barrel, 700 action. I used the truing functions and once I did that, I found it to work quite well. The parts I trued were drops in...

    Vacuum seal in seating stem?

In the die-hard reloading community, is it "looked down on" if you spin up a new seating stem on a lathe, bore out the cup on the end, fill with JB Weld, place lubed projectile (so it will separate with JB Weld) in the new stem (axially aligned of course) and using that as your seating stem...

    Indoor range zero- be gentle

Station pressure over barometric pressure. Station pressure of where you are at the time you are shooting is the pressure info you want (also called absolute pressure). Barometric Pressure is a weather term and is the location you are at, calculated to sea level, so unless your calculator...

    Desert Tech TRASOL Official Thread

Isn't this "Trasol"? This is a screen shot from my phone. So it just sits there and never actually syncs anything to the website. And if I three different androids running this same version, they all get this same message .... "Downloading profiles....." . Does anyone have this part working on...
