Remington 700 Recall on X-Mark Pro Triggers

Anyone have a good DIY on disassembly and inspection of the trigger group? Even a good adjustment video/post would be great too.

Looking for decent bolt action .308 with scope for around $1000...What options?

You can get a remington 700 sps varmint in 308 for $500 after rebate. As stated, the SWFA is a fine scope on a budget. Varmint will limit bullet weight a bit, but unless shooting longer ranges it probably will not hold you back.

    newbie 700 aac tactical advice

Just built a rig for the same purpose. Remignton 700 AAC-SD 308 20in SWFA 10 power scope SWFA low rings TPS 20moa rail Haris 6-9 swivel bipod with notched legs. AAC single chamber brake. Shoots great. Spend any other money you have on range time. Stock will be the first weak link. Not...

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

I see your point with the threading. Guess I just like options and dream of living in a free state one day. As for the stock, mine remains floated on a bi pod, but with not that much force it will contact the barrel.

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

I don't mind the hogue on my 308. It is free floated. I do agree that there are better stocks though. Threading is fine on a bolt gun in NY, but no cans.

You have $10,000. What do you build?

$2000-2500 into a 260 $2000-2500 on glass Rest spent on ammo, range time and instruction. In all honesty after you get into the $4-5k range for a rifle, what does a $10k one do better? I'm newer to bolt actions. But know in the AR world many, not all, of the huge dollar rifles are just...

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

On the other hand I could just buy different projectiles when reloading for the varmint. What's the efective range on that set up? But there is more the. $100 value in the houge stock and threading of the AAC-sd

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

Never really understand the point of a folding stock on a bolt gun. guess it helps in storage or transport.

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

Reloading for the bolt gun differently wouldn't be an issue. Thought things would be easier if my bolt and AR had the same 20in barrel. But that might not actually be true

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

    I'm more looking for a $600 plinker rather then a $1200 platform

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

Guess I don't need the handiness of the 16.5 Wish they made an AAC-SD in 223 with the 20in barrel thought.

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

I figured the varmint was not going to fit the bill. No folders or any of that. Have an AAC-SD 20in 308 Thought the same was available in 223, but all I see is the 16.5 Since my AR is a 20 I guess I'm better off with the 20in SPS tactical, wish they made a AAC-SD in 223 with the 20in barrel...

Thinking about a .223 remington bolt gun. Have questions

Well thinking about adding bolt 223 to the safe. Idea is to simplify calibers. I shoot a white oak AR so I have brass and such. Want to keep with remington, have had good luck with them and will keep things simple for parts. Looking at -SPS Varmint -SPS tactical -SPS AAC-SD...

I use this and rather like it. BSA Tactical Mil-Dot Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 6-24x 44mm Side Focus Glass Have a SWFA 10x on my 308 and it is a great piece of glass

    Beginner rifle

Remington varmints have a $50 rebate this month. But those will limit you to lighter bullets.... I looked at the savages when I was staring out. Bought a remington 700. My forts long range bolt gun is R700 AAC-SD 308 20in TPS 20moa rail SWFA 10x SWFA low rings Haris 6-9 Spend the rest of the...

Talk Me Into Or Out Of A Chassis

So XLR is $630 for the one I would want LSS is $360(discounted) plus $150 for the stock and $20 for a grip. How are the AR stocks? Never had a collapsable stock on an AR.....live in NY. After giving it more thought the XLR might have a more "solid" feel but still be slim and lighter weight.

Talk Me Into Or Out Of A Chassis

So what are the pros and cons of the LSS and the XLR(element)? Having a hard time seeing the differences. Maybe I'm thick.
