    10/22 precision barrel needed

Individuals cannot buy from Walther. That is where Kidd and Volquartsen get their unchambered blanks. There are several tiers of "match" grade 10/22 barrels. Bottom feeder would be Green Mountain, Shaw and a few others. Mid level would be Feddersen. They may not be a fair assessment on my part...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 - what would you spend $1000 - 2000 on if you had the cash

Saito, guess I will have to bow to your obviously superior 1911 knowledge. BTW I replaced the extractor on a Night Hawk recently with less than 5,000 rounds through it. Tip broke off. I suspect the owner had been dropping the slide with a round in the chamber. One of our Kimbers is at the 40,000...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 - what would you spend $1000 - 2000 on if you had the cash

Wow Jared, I have never experienced any of those issues. Guess I got "lucky" 10 times. None of my shooting buds have had any of those issues either. The only thing I have ever had to "adjust" was the extractor on a couple of mine. They would extract just fine, but I like a little more tension on...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 - what would you spend $1000 - 2000 on if you had the cash

Jared, what do you hate about the current Kimbers? I don't particularly like the Swartz safety, but that can be adjusted to the point it does not present a problem. I do like my 9mm Kimber. What is really nice is you can install a .40 barrel. Kimber uses the same breech face for 9mm and .40.

Sidearms & Scatterguns glock or smith?

I have personally worked on Glocks with over 500,000 rounds through them. They were in a rental fleet at a Georgia indoor range. Glock would give the owner several Glocks to use, then swap them out for new ones after a few years. The only thing that ever broke was the trigger return spring. That...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 - what would you spend $1000 - 2000 on if you had the cash

One cannot beat a Kimber for price and accuracy. I have owned 10 of them over the years. 10? Every time someone would shoot one of mine they wound up buying it. We currently own two Stainless Target models. All of my Kimbers have been superbly accurate. About the only thing needed is a trigger...

    Benchrest rest

Nice looking rest. I would not be interested in a one piece, but would have an interest in a front rest.

Rifle Scopes What scope for my new Anschutz .22LR ?

Best buy for the money is the Viper 6.5-20x44 that Cameraland sells for $280 delivered. That one has a fine plex cross hair. I own 6 of them. Glass is superb. It has target turrets that are lift to set. No allen wrenches needed. 70" of internal adjustment.

    Marlin XT-22 as a cheap 22 trainer?

Why in the world do you have your scope mounted so high on the Marlin?

Quality Spring Air Rifle in .22 Caliber

I too had a RWS 34 years ago. I hated it. Twanged and vibrated like a Gamo.

Federal Auto Match .22lr - Anyone Using It In Their 10/22?

It is definitely not match ammo. I have found 510B shoots just as well. It's just plinking ammo.

Quality Spring Air Rifle in .22 Caliber

None of my rifles are "twangy". I had a Gamo Big Cat once that was terrible. It twanged and vibrated. My B28 does have a pretty good kick. The TF 89 is pretty darn smooth right out of the box as is my RWS 94. I think when I see posts on the big air rifle forum that a lot of people are getting...

Quality Spring Air Rifle in .22 Caliber

Steve, is the TX200 as hold sensitive as other springers? I looked at the 56TH. Too expensive for my tastes. I have seen on another Forum where everyone gets their springers "tuned". I wonder if that is really needed or is it a me too thing. Something that does not add up is one buys a pretty...

Quality Spring Air Rifle in .22 Caliber

IMO A PCP rifle is kind of like nitrous for a car. At the most inopportune time you run out. They are certainly easier to shoot. OTOH the TX 200 in .177 has almost no recoil or vibration.

Quality Spring Air Rifle in .22 Caliber

The 54 and TX 200 are really nice rifles. I don't own either yet. I have several break barrels that I shoot - RWS 94, B28 and TF89. The B28 is a real hammer. It pushes a .22 CP at over 950 fps. The 94 and 89 are .177 caliber.

    .22 Chrono Data

Is that a typo with the Eley Match - 1041?

    22LR Ballistics calculator

Actually I found the elevation dope to be pretty accurate. At least for Eley ammo. I ran some Tenex and Match across the chrono the other day and found the FPS listed on the box to be pretty darn close to what I got.

    22LR Ballistics calculator

Yes, I know why a subsonic round is more accurate. Logic would say a bullet with less time of flight should have less wind drift. Oh well.

    22LR Ballistics calculator

One thing that I can't wrap my head around is why a .22 at 1050 fps has less wind drift at 200 yds than the same bullet at 1250 fps.

    22 LR ammo

I tested 4 different lots of Tenex today. I was afraid even Tenex was lot sensitive. Not so. All four lots grouped 1/2" or better at 100yds out of my 2007/Lilja and 1808/Shilen. I guess you do get what you pay for.
