    Looking to build a LR rifle.

    I got .308 in my blood as a lot of older shooters do. I would take a hard look at the 6.5 cals for up 1000yd and 300WM for anything else. Do some research and find the right rifle for your range and operation. Get it right the first time.

    Never tried a Manners. Think i will put it on my New Years wish list. Greg built a bunch of rifles for me and love them all. The latest was a 300WM. Just shot it at a mile for fun and didn't do bad. Gonna have to learn to post pics.

    6.5 Creedmoor Extreme spread

    My Creedmoor does the same, ES around 45. It still shoots good. Do not think it is my reloading technique or chrono because my other rifles have single digit spread. 24in. Brux, 140 Berger VLD, 42.5 H4350

    6.5 creedmoor barrel

    I had BUGHOLE to build six or eight diff rifles in 6.5 CM for our group of shooters and he used Brux barrels, All shot excellent. He also built one with Mullerworks that shot really well. Think he used 8.5 twist. Good man to deal with and he is excited about his work.

    Ran through a lot of diff barrels and the best i have shot came from Satern and WOA. Make sure you have a quality upper, lot of sloppy uppers showing up lately. Too much play at barrel extension. Ranier UM ain't bad for price.

    Take a look at 6.5 Grendel forum. Those guys have a reloading guide especially for grendel, gets great reviews from Grendel shooters. Gotta get off my ass and order one for myself.

    Shoot it in my Grendel, it is a bit dirty but get good results. Gonna try some in my 223 AR.

    1-8 twist 223 loads

    Get some 69gr SMK/Varget and if that won't work use barrel for wind flag. Just kidding, 69gr SMK is probably your best bet. I found that if you push them hard the performance picks up. My goto load is 26.2 varget.
