    Horizontal groups are seating depth of the bullets. Vertical groups are improper powder measuring.

    I think you will have better luck with just sorting the bullets by weight. The meplat trimmers don't seem to change accuracy very much.

    I shoot a lot of benchrest competitions and I never see someone with a 22" barrel win the competition. Why cut it shorter just because it is hard to carry. When you go to a match and there is a 16.5 weight limit, it's funny how the top shooters rifles weigh 16.48 lbs.

    No, do not cut the barrel to make the gun easier to carry around. It will shoot better at longer distances as long barrel. Learn to carry it. My 300 WM is 29" and everyone wants it.
