    Speer 180gr round nose flat base bullets 11.1gr of trail boss works for me. I'd recommend starting at 13-15gr and back your load down until it is subsonic.

    I have a 16" encore with a 1/8 twist MGM barrel. I shoot subs and full power loads out of it. I would stick with the 308 platform and use trail boss for subs. Mine in extremely quiet with my AAC cyclone and a very compact rifle.

    Make sure your smith pulls the barrel and recurs counter bore and doesn't try to just take material of of the extractor
