    I have found that in the cold mine likes to take a single "range" button press as two presses which kicks it into scan mode. The super cold LCD screen on a normal single button press takes about a second or two to display a firing solution so when in scan mode the screen just never ends up...

    Pretty redneck but I snagged a pile of bumpers and drilled out the center on the back side of it. Dab of super glue should do. Works great. Doesn't look great but it could be worse and I'll take the function over all things.
