Rifle Scopes Who is your favorite vendor/dealer to purchase S&B?

I purchased my last one from Mile High, because they had the Spuhr I wanted in stock as well. Great service, as usual. There is certainly nothing wrong with EuroOptic either.

Rifle Scopes Optic for semi auto 308; can a Nightforce F1 be beat?

+1. I had a Hensoldt 3-12x56 I moved around from a SCAR17 to a 716. Even though it is short, and relatively light, I just didn't like such a big scope on a gas gun. The new NF 2.5-10x42 is ideal.

Rifle Scopes Schmidt/Bender Short dot 1x8

I've waited so long I just just gave up and started outfitting rifles as they've needed glass. When they show, they show. But I no longer have any faith in anything S&B says when it comes to product introduction dates/availability.

Rifle Scopes CCW vs CW turret, preference and why?

I went with CW turrets because I like to pick up nice scopes slightly used when I can. The CW models tend to linger a little longer (I'm not online 24/7) and be priced a little lower. I'm a buyer much more than a seller. Functionally, it makes no difference. I just try to get everything the...

Rifle Scopes S&B reticle choice P4-Fine or H2CMR

I've standardized on the P4f, because I don't really like the bubbles. It is nice and clean, although I do wish it had shorter intervals closer to the center like the H2CMR.

    Rifle Scopes Sako TRG glass

This is how I set up my TRGs. Know that if you go with one of these scopes you will want to make sure you have an inclined mount. I use the 13mil Spuhr, but for 800 yds you don't need that much.

Rifle Scopes Scope bases, to bed or not to bed?

I had the exact same experience two weeks ago with with my Rem 700 AAC-SD. I had all my stuff laid out, lightly tightened down the front of my Badger rail, and had the same reaction as you. Your post made me chuckle. Undoing the front and snugging down the rear had the same result. I guess...

Rifle Scopes Scope ring torque wrench reccomendations?

If you appreciate fine tools, watch ebay for a Stahlwille torque screwdriver. They pop up every once in a while for around $100. They are about $500 new. Likely you will need to convert your desired settings to Nm or Ncm but that is easy enough. You won't find anything better.

Best bolt action .22LR for fun practice?

CZ455. Great out of the box and easy to change the barrel to a Lilja if you are so inclined.

    I'm done with MidwayUSA

Unfortunately, I've become increasingly disappointed with them. First, they did away with the dealer discounts (I have a C&R). Next, their shipping charges became more and more ridiculous, and finally their packaging has gone way downhill. I recently received a Timney trigger that had the...

    Hearing protection

I have a couple pairs of Pro Ears Gold (the full size and the rifle-cut versions) and am quite happy with them. I also have a pair of the Peltor TacSport. They are ok, but best suited for outdoors only (like the rifle-cut Pro Ears). The noise reduction is good, but the electronics are not as...

Rifle Scopes What mount did you use on your 34mm glass?

I've used Barrett rings (on a Barrett) and Badger without issue, but now am stuck on the Spuhr mounts. Badger has a set of 34mm rings at 1.0" high...

Night Vision New FLIR -The RS Dedicated Thermal Weapon Scope- 60mm units just arrived!

Any idea about the height from the top of the pic rail (on the gun) to the centerline of the scope? This would be ideal for the .300 BLK bolt gun I'm building up, but I may have bought the wrong stock by not getting an adjustable cheek riser....doh!

Rifle Scopes Nightforce 2.5-10x42 .... This is what was missing !! :)

I just picked one of these up for my SCAR 17S, and IMO it is ideal. I had the -32mm version on it for a while and wasn't happy with it. Switched to a Henny 3-12x56 for a while which was wonderful but just too bulky. The 2.5-10x42mm is the Goldilocks scope, just right for this application.

    Savage 12 LRP 260 for a 8yr old??

I would not subject a child to any rifle that requires a brake. Her lifetime hearing is more important than the latest whiz-bang caliber that she can "grow into," and hearing never comes back once lost Regardless of ear-pro, brakes are just louder. Get her something that she can comfortably...

    Time to get a gunsafe

I am very happy with my Sturdy Safes. They are not the prettiest things in the world (although they are nice in an industrial sort of way), but they are hell-for-stout. Likely the thickest steel you will get for the money. Precision of the door gaps has to be seen to be believed. Interiors...

Rifle Scopes New glass for each rifle.

I don't like swapping scopes and rezeroing all the time. I buy top quality scopes for each rifle. If the right deal hasn't come along, I wait until it does and the rifle sits.

    Sako TRG-22 stock dent repair

I'm getting ready to send my TRG-22 out for paint, but I have a pretty good dent in the forearm I'd like to repair first. I understand the polyurethane material has some limitations, and 5-minute epoxies are not a good idea. Any suggestions on a material that will bond and be paintable? It is...
