    Load pressure discrepancy

One source says a 58 gr load of H4350 under 175 gr SMKs in 30-06 is OVER SAAMI specs for the cartridge pressure. The manufacturer, which I would have thought to be more conservative, says that one grain higher, 59 gr, is the max charge, and still under the SAAMI max at about 58,000 PSI...

    .30 '06 load for 1903 Springfield

My M1903 loves loves loves 155 gr AMAX. I have played around with IMR 4064 only, I keep the charges close to the minimum because I'm a wuss and that rifle is my precious. I used fire formed brass, seating depth for the magazine length.

    .30-06 Sprg OCW: 175 gr SMK + H4350

Thanks Tristian. Your thinking echoes my own. I'm actually really excited that I've gotten to the point where I can shoot these groups and actually see qualitatively obvious results.

RELOADING PROBLEM what can I do???

Just a quick safety note: NO NO NO it will not! A drop of oil on a modern primer = an oily live primer. Oil, WD-40, etc. can not be relied on to deactivate a primer. Stick the case in the chamber at the range and make it go boom. Or, if you don't mind having a still-live primer, as others...

    .30-06 Sprg OCW: 175 gr SMK + H4350

Here is today's result. To the best of my knowledge I did not pull a SINGLE shot in the 56.8 gr group. It was done round robin, left to right. The recoil did surprise me a bit after shooting all those cute little 150 gr with IMR 4064.

Ebola virus patients are being transported from west Africa to Atlanta

Certain types of Malaria DID thrive here. It has been eliminated since the 1950s. It is no longer considered endemic. To further qualify my statement, the species known for fatalities in the modern healthcare system, P. vivax and P. falciperum, do not thrive here, and never have; the temperature...

Ebola virus patients are being transported from west Africa to Atlanta

A couple things here. If AIDS was a fast killing disease, if we knew it was going to kill its victims with a morbid, matter-of-fact eventuality, it would have been reacted to very differently by the public. It was so easy to get into this country and stay unnoticed because it is not a...

How many sheets of printer paper between floated barrel and stock?

...to keep the stock from contacting when the barrel heats and "walks around" (as I've read it anecdotally put)?

    .30-06 Sprg OCW: 175 gr SMK + H4350

    Winchester brass. Fire formed.

So it may not be "all day long", but apparently it is capable, which I didn't expect.

Ahh the German double sets! A friend of mine has a Steyr SSG with the double set I'm going to get to try here in a few weeks. And is that a Mauser action? Purty!

    .30-06 Sprg OCW: 175 gr SMK + H4350

Here are the gradations I had planned (0.85%): 56.4 gr 56.8 gr 57.3 gr 57.8 gr 58.3 gr 58.8 gr Mfr's max: 59 gr @ 48700 CUP Sound about right?

Hahah, thanks guys. I'm getting ready to do an OCW test with 175 gr SMKs and this nice new fire formed brass. Time to start working on reaching out past 100...

Thanks, Dan. I promise to stop spamming the board with it now.
