Sidearms & Scatterguns glock gen 3 to gen 4 questions
A quick search on Glocktalk indicates that a Gen 3 slide will fit an a Gen 4 frame but not vice versa. Also it looks like the steel that surrounds the guide rod on the lower portion of the muzzle is a little smaller on the Gen 3 slide. Looks a little funny. I only own Gen 4's myself so I cant...- carp

My understanding is that bluing is a chemical reaction or conversion of the steel surface. Cold Bluing is more like a "stain" that is applied to the steel surface. I wouldnt have an issue cold bluing as a touchup, but in my experience, the finished bluing was not even close to being uniform once...- carp

Hours of steel wool. I don't thinks there was any original finish left. To be fair though, I had that plastic package of Cold Blue sitting around in my basement for probably 5 or 6 years. 00 buck hits 9 times with 1 shot. If your spread results in less than 4 projectiles on target from a shotgun aimed at center mass, you might be outside of a "self defense" range. Tomahawks are cool and I would kinda like one myself. But for your intended use, you should consider a halligan. A tomahawk/Haligan compromise might be the Gerber Downrange. A little above your price range (175.00ish) but seems like it might be a better investment given your intent. Good luck- carp
