    338 Lapua vs. 300 Magnum

    I'd look into the 300 Norma shooting the 230's best of both worlds, will do anything a lapua will, but if it's just between these two calibers I'd go with 338 David

    I'm running 89 grs of rl33 in a 30" 1-10 with 230's at 3050 but that can be a hot load for some, a friend has a 26" Norma that hammers with retumbo, not sure on his powder charge but he's running them at 2995, I think his charge is between 82-84gr of retumbo, hope this helps

    So went out today to try some h1000 loads and retumbo loads and got some awesome results! H-1000 49.6grs 3581 avg., SD 3 ES 7, Retumbo load 50grs 3519 avg., SD 4 and ES 7, velocities were takin with magneto v-2, will go out later this week to confirm groups, very excited about new loads...

    I get a decelerator pad 1-2" thick, I have them on all my big guns 300 Norma, 338 lapua ai, 375 cheytac etc.

    Action fit pretty much perfectly only thing I noticed was the little Allen screw that holds the bolt release in was putting pressure on the stock which I didn't like, so we took the screw out grinded it down problem solved, but other than that it fits like a glove

    With 47.5 grs of rl25 I'm running 3320 and with 48 grs I'm running 3380 with 80gr Bergers coal 2.955 This was the first 10 rounds out of the barrel at 100 yards 3 shots at 300
