Found this little buddy at my feet this morning when I opened my shop door.

I average a diamondback a year at my place, mostly on the front walk or porch. Last year I had my first one on the patio out back. Showed up when it was almost dark. Let the dog out to do his business and looked back and is was cooped up and pissed off five feet from the door. The dog ran...

    Cover Songs.

So, for all of the Bob Dylan haters out there… Yes, better performers have covered his work but without him we would be much poorer (i.e. no Hendrix cover of All Along the Watchtower). Hendrix even did an awesome Like Rolling Stone. Dude did pretty well selling his song catalog for $150M-200M...

    Cover Songs.

Not sure I would call it a cover vs. a guest appearance but Alison Krauss singing These Dreams with Heart pretty much killed it.

    Cover Songs.

How about worst cover? I would vote for Sweet Child of Mine by Sheryl Crow or Kashmir by Sean Combs (Eff his other names).

Well, all of the band members are taller than Dio so that is something. Interesting, what’s the deal with follow on vids being completely different bands under the same name?

Sidearms & Scatterguns Better "Anti-Social" shotguns today? Beretta, Benelli, other?

Ran across this vid, might help in comparing the 1301 and A300. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2023/05/27/beretta-1301-a300-patrol-review/

Sidearms & Scatterguns Better "Anti-Social" shotguns today? Beretta, Benelli, other?

I like the M4, I got a screaming deal on one years ago. Broke it in with 1oz sporting clays loads, had a few failures early but it broke in pretty quick. My clay shooting friends tried it and really liked how soft it shot, they have all been through various Benelli inertia guns and Beretta gas...

    Union Pacific’s “Big Boy”

I would like to see this one in action, it would bookend the steam era pretty well. I’ve been on the Durango to Silverton train a few times which is an awesome trip if you are ever in that part of the country. Also used to live in the Snoqualmie valley in Washington and they had a little...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Opinions on Ed Brown 1911’s?

I had a Cobra Carry for a while. It was a really nice gun, superb build quality and feel and also shot well. Traded it off for a like new Nighthawk T3 which was/is, to me, just a cut above the Ed Brown. It’s also the only 1911 I’ve kept.

    Vietnam Tiger Stripe in Cerakote

That’s the problem with a directional pattern, it’s going to be ”wrong” part of the time. If we could keep the grunts on all fours or prone it wouldn’t be a problem.:) A leopard pattern would be better since it isn’t directional. I’ve always been amazed at how fast a leopard can vanish from...

    Travel warning - Florida

Florida? Eff that place! Hot, humid, flat… the only redeeming qualities of that place are fishing the saltwater flats, with a fly as God intended. And let’s not get started on the gators and snakes… or Florida Man.;)

    Sidearms & Scatterguns P320 ADs

Well said. The 100% cocked striker designs creep me out and I don’t understand why so many people have fallen for them. I remember when the Walther PPQ came out and was lauded for a great trigger, I bought one and didn’t keep it long for reliability issues. Those where somewhere over 75%...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns P320 ADs

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the “fix” to the P320 drop issue was to make the trigger lighter (mass of the part itself). The issue was the trigger had enough mass that if dropped at the right angle the resulting momentum fired the gun. I don’t recall any “striker safety” being added...

    Suppressing the M1A Rifle

I played around with suppressing the one I had (LRB M25). I used the DeltaP Designs adapter, I had to file down the edges of the slots a little as there was enough metal pushed up proud by the machining that it wouldn’t fit (Krieger CM barrel). Also used the Schuster adjustable gas plug. The...

Very nice vintage styling to the stock and engraving. Only 25 will be made with the first one being sold at the Nashville SCI. If you have $35k that needs a home…. Me, I would rather mine be a Rigby. In 416 naturally. https://www.mauser.com/us/MAUSER-98/
