Bringing back my 338 Savagae 110BA for refund
Shoots good at 100 yards but is all over the place at 300 I had a guy that owns a local gun store try it and he could not get it to group at 300. Ammo missfires or sticks all the time. 50-500+ yard spotting scope
Im looking to get a good spotting scope for target shooting. I have a cheap Big 5 20x60x60 and i can see 200 yard 338 holes but thats maxed out. Re: 338 lapua Hornady 285 vs HSM 300 Chris, HSM 300 grain bullets. My Savage would not shoot these (misfire) so i pulled the bullets out of the cases, trimmed and reloaded the cases using the 300 HSM bullets i pulled out. The factory cases were too long for the Savage.- WCPORTING

Question: Im reloading and using Hornady 285 grain bullets for my 338 Lapua. The factory spec calls for a max OAL 3.625" . OK, i have some HSM 300 grain bullets and the factory OAL is 3.680" . Both the Hornady 285 and HSM 300 (bullets only) are the exact same length 1.730" with the HSM...- WCPORTING

Re: 338 lapua savage help needed Just reloaded some 300 grain HSM, i set the OAL to 3.625" like the 285 grain i reloaded last time. The book calls for max 3.680" max. I did not measure the factory HSM 300's OAL like i should have.- WCPORTING

Re: 338 lapua savage help needed Bought the RCBS bullet extraction tool and collet for the press, unloaded all the HSM ammo, got to the Hornady, pulled 2 bullets out, the powder does not want to come out, any idea's? HSM has very small powder and it ran out, the Hornady looks like the H1000....- WCPORTING
