    260 Lapua Neck Tension Question

    I just had the same thing with my lapua brass. I just annealed all of them, and they are right back to the way they were on there first and second reloading. All my brass had about 9 reloads on them.

    I am shooting the 140 Vld's out of my 260. I have a tried various lengths, but found the best grouping I got was at .002 off the lands. My COAL is 2.996.

    The Fat Bastard is awesome. I used to get through about 20 rounds with the old setup and I was done. I have done some all day shoots with it and feel great at the end of the day. I actualy almost sold it until I found out about the APA brake. I have not weighed it,but will guess its about 15lbs.

    I did the same thing. Changed to an Obermeyer Barrel, no barrel nut and bedded action with APA Fat Bastard brake. Its a hamer for sure loves the 300 smk and Scenars.

    I also run the H1000 with fantastic results. I only went to it because I found it and could not find the H1000. As far as temp swings I will not have to deal with that being this far south, but its good information to know.

    ball park speeds of a 140 amax in a 260 rem with a 21" barrel

    I am running 39.4 grains of Hodgon 100v and WLRM primers with the 140 Amax. I get very consistent 2700 to 2715 and is wicked accurate. I have a 22 inch Obermeyer 1in 8.5 barrel. I have not had time to shoot it at distance yet only at 100 yards.

    They were very friendly, but i can not believe what they charge for primers. I dont mind paying a little more, but not what they want. I did pick up some bullets from them and they shipped the next day.

    ordered a savage in .260 today

    Re: ordered a savage in .260 today My buddy has the same rifle and it shoots fantastic. We loaded up some 139 Scenar's with Vita N170 and it likes that. I will see if I can find out what charge he is using. 45 grains comes to mind, but let me make sure on that.
