Re: 308 barrel recut to 300wm? It didnt come off another gun, its a new barrel. Its 308 so I assume it is cut for short action receivers. This gun is a long action magnum caliber..... I was going to sell it, but I will keep it if it works. I seem to recall the barrels cut for magnum...- microsuck

Gunsmithing 308 barrel recut to 300wm?
So I picked up a brand new Shillen 308 barrel today on the cheap. I was wanting to recut the chamber to 300wm and use it to replace the factory barrel on my 300wm 700. Is it as simple as a chamber recut? Or are the threads different too?- microsuck

Re: Do you think Midway lies about there expecte d Actually what is happening is that the product comes in inventory, but 100% of it goes to backorders, and thus never becomes "Available", and you dont get an email. If you want some, you need to backorder it. I know this firsthand.- microsuck
