Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

Considering you have one already, any reason you wouldn't get the Oryx? -- MDT shows LH Tikka in stock in every color. Either way, at this point, I'd wait till their black Friday sale. And definitely get their 22-250 mag: https://mdttac.com/22-250-mdt-metal-aics-magazine-10-rnd/

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

I'm just glad you're finding out what a pain it is to be a left handed shooter. The struggle is real. 😆

Tikka build? Whos gonna talk me into a custom?

Ruger American would be a good option (for the money), except the Gen1 safety doesn't lock the bolt, and the Gen2 doesn't come in left hand. -- Maybe reach out and see if they plan to offer Gen2 in left hand at some point. Otherwise, Tikka makes a number of left-handed compact tactical models...

    22 ARC brass question

Some people will tell you that particularly for Grendel cases, Starline is better (or at least more durable) than Lapua. Something about Lapua being too thin near the case head, which can lead to a bulge, or even the "Grendel Belt" with stout loads. I've not personally tested enough to know...

    I'm sorry, another over-pressure post....

Since you said you have this problem even with gas turned off, I don't think any combination of buffer and spring is going to help. Do you have access to a bore scope? -- If not, I would get one. They can had pretty cheap on the jungle website. You may have a "carbon ring", which is an extra...

Walz is picked as VP- Please vote, even if you don't like Trump.

Yes, that's exactly how it works. And Minneapolis is full of people taking handouts and people that think handouts are somehow beneficial. So all you have to do to get elected is promise more handouts. Those of us that are capable of objective observation and critical thinking understand that...

    Snow Camo

I've actually put it right on the suppressor before, but only for coyote hunting, where I know I'm not going to be shooting long strings.

    Snow Camo

I just use vet wrap (coban / self-adhesive bandage) in white. It's a whole lot cheaper than any specialty "camo" wrap or tape, and doesn't leave any sticky residue. The brown shades work good for fall too.

    Left-hand Grendel / ARC bolt

Yep, they have a full BCG https://www.stagarms.com/catalog/product/view/id/1091/s/bolt-carrier-group-6mm-arc-6-5-grendel-type-ii-nitride-left-handed/category/422/ but it's Nitride, which is not what I prefer.

    Left-hand Grendel / ARC bolt

I'm in search for apparently a bit of a rarity. I have a left hand upper and bolt carrier, and would like to buy just a left-hand bolt with the Grendel / ARC bolt face. Because it will be suppressed, which tends to run dirty, I would like for it to be either Nickel-Boron or DLC coated for easy...

    6mm ARC Long Range Build

I find it hard to believe that any (knowledgeable) person would tell you anything shorter than rifle-length with a barrel over 18". And the barrel length is not (all that) related to the ability to shoot heavier bullets. The twist rate determines that. I think a mile is going to be a bit of a...

Was "House Hunting" ever an enjoyable experience?

What we used was recycled cotton insulation batts like this: https://www.buildwithrise.com/stories/cotton-batt-insulation-is-it-for-you It looked like it was mostly shredded denim. Not sure about availability or cost differences, but compared to fiberglass, it was a dream to work with.

Was "House Hunting" ever an enjoyable experience?

You might want to look into acoustic options for interior insulation rather than standard fiberglass. When we did my buddies house, we used some sort of recycled cotton stuff. It doesn't insulate from heat and cold as well, but that's a non-issue on interior walls. Not sure what the price...

Was "House Hunting" ever an enjoyable experience?

Well, contrary to 'captain stick up his ass', I very much recommend insulating interior walls. It cuts down on noise a lot. I insulated between my two levels as well. If you have, or will have kids, you will appreciate it. And it's not hard to do. A buddy was building a new house and I...

22ARC 62GR ELD-VT IS NO ONE RELOADING FOR THIS

I think there's some confusion here. 62 ELD-VT can most certainly be used in an AR15, when chambered in 22 ARC. However, they're not going to work so well in 223 / 556 chambered ARs due to their length.

Best Sling Stud Bipod Money Can Buy?

Why limit yourself to sling stud style? If you want to keep a stud for whatever reason, you could put on a rail like this that also has a stud. https://www.salmonriversolutions.com/product/srs-arca-pic/ Not sure what kind of stock you have, but typically all you need is a hand drill to make a...

    Savage Impulse 1 year update

You may just want to contact Savage, but I'm pretty sure the Hog Hunter uses some proprietary mag, whereas the Predator uses AICS pattern mags, with the caveat that full-polymer mags don't work with it, which is not much of a problem. MDT makes excellent steel mags that work well.
