Inrange still exists? I used to follow them way back in the day but always disliked Karl for reasons I couldn't put my finger on. Once Ian distanced himself I assumed they died off. Edit, stupid autocorrect. Pic of my buddies drag and drive unit, because picture thread.

The same people that hate traffic circles also mess up every four way stop intersection they come to. They wait till they've stopped to look around and try to figure out when everybody else arrived. Then they get confused and start waving everyone else through and screw up the whole system...

    Barrel and gas system lengths

If I remember correctly, a 16" RLGS has 2.5-2.75" of dwell time, so it may be technically possible to do, but yeah, not likely a realistic thing.

    Barrel and gas system lengths

Not a direct answer to your question, but as a data point for reference, I've got a 17" RLGS+1 in 5.56 that works great and ran with no issues out of the box. Obviously that's small frame and lower pressures but in my mind that says theoretically a much higher pressured cartridge could run an...

Mash? Just a guess. I am now a real gunsmif.

    AR Gas Tube Wrench

Yup. I've had some get stuck, after use and carbon lock, and vise grips and twisting did the trick. Gas tubes are pretty thick, you'd have to really try to damage it in any way beyond some marring.

We can have boners together. Separately. With a great distance between us.

If I've gotta have a boner so do you. You can keep your bright red supercars.

Question about carbine length vs mid length

Who can't feel the difference? The average gun owner? The average infantryman? Sure, I buy that. I have yet to meet either of those who can tell if the bolt chambered a round based on the sound. Or know the gun malfunctioned before the they pull the trigger and get a click, because they felt...

Question about carbine length vs mid length

Can't be real, that contradicts the post above yours.

    Enhanced upper handguard interchangeability

LWRC definitely appears to have a much smaller diameter, as measured by my left eye (the good one).

Question about carbine length vs mid length

Absolutely, up to a point. Port size controls gas volume, but does not dictate gas pressure. Both volume and pressure add to recoil. A mildly gassed CLGS could easily be softer than an overgassed MLGS. But if you compare apples to apples, the longer system will always be softer. To really...

Monolithic uppers coming from Icon Defense (former Mega Arms guys)

Not great, I wouldn't buy one for off hand use. Mine is all bipod or barricade and it's great for that. I haven't tested shift in any great depth, so no comments there.

Question about carbine length vs mid length

What are your testing methods? Full auto fire? Slow mo video? Recoil sleds? Recoil pendulums? Measured pairs? Triples? Because all of that has been ad nauseum and the results have always been conclusive. You may be the last person on earth still arguing against all that testing. Hell, I was...

Question about carbine length vs mid length

Lol. We've been over this before. It's easily tested, and it's easy to measure and graph the increased recoil of a CLGS. Then there's parts and brass wear and tear that is well documented.

Question about carbine length vs mid length

Oh, well in that case this is really easy. Hell freezing over=good time to use a CLGS on a 16" barrel. That simple.

Question about carbine length vs mid length

I don't see any correlation between intended use and gas system length. I can't see any scenario regardless of target distance that I would want a less smooth running gun. That said, 16" RLGS 5.56 barrels are a bit rare and I wouldn't recommend them to someone unfamiliar with gas gun tuning and...

SHOT 2025: US-Made SVD Dragunov from Insight Armory

Can those really be had for $2k still? Last I knew that was PSL money, and the M76 is far superior.
