Why shouldn't I build a 7-08?
RickT301, saw this post and couldn't stop myself from replying....(I'm a Rick T. as well....) AND...I shoot a 7-08 for my LR comp gun. Have been for about 8 years. I've now finally worn out two barrels, one Brux and now one Bartlein. BOTH went 4000+ rounds before I couldn't stand the .75-1.0...- Weaselthis

7-300wm or 7 Rem Mag?
I've never had a custom DIE made for me. Just the COAL gauge. The fact I could use my existing 7Rm dn 300WM dies was a big plus for me in the decision. I've put over 1000 rounds thru my 7mm/300WM in a 26" factory 7mm Remmy bbl. reamed out with 180g Bergers at 3050 fps. Shot into .9-1.1 MOA. Took it to Africa last year for a shit load of plains game. Do you remove muzzle brake during cleaning?
I read somewhere that carbon attracts moisture and can cause pitting an rust. I use a Vais brake on ALL my rifles and spin them off EACH time I clean. I make sure the carbon is off the face of the barrel crown just to be sure. I don't have to "time" a brake back on, so it's a non-issue for...- Weaselthis
