The EMA/ARD killFlash from Tenebraex came out in either 1988 or 1989 and was posted to the TM 9-1005-305-10 in Change 7. The EMA itself was posted in Change 5 of the -10 TM. I've posted these pics on all the iterations of this thread and and the Sniper's Hide website change up but here they...

There is a rare M24 EMA/ARD KillFlash on eBay right now. It's attached to a sun shield from what I can tell and not the EMA, but these things are few and far between.

When the M110s switched to the Leupold Mark 4 M5A2 ER/T 6.5-20x50 from the Leupold Mark 4 M2 FDE OEM scope they came with, I put one on my M24A2. For me, it's the ideal scope for the M24. The FDE Mark 4 M2 scope went onto my Mk12. The newer Mark 5 HDs 3-18x are a really good choice as well...

Ooh now that I look at those pics again the one on the bottom of each pic isn't right. Too tall. This is a genuine Remington front sight base.

Well that depends on which Iron Set you want, the Redfield or the OK Weber. The Redfield bases were the most prolific. That front sight base above that has the rounded edges is either a Redfield or a close facsimile or maybe even a genuine Remington. Can't see it well enough. BTW, Remington...

I had a short action version of that way back in the 1990s. I have to think it's a commercial version and not the contract version.

That's a pretty good find and I'm not going to poo poo your fortunate acquisition, however yours is a later version of the original. This is the original ARD and EMA. Notice the double set of threads, the smaller set thread into the M3a scope directly, the larger threads screw into the EMA...

For interested parties, there is a Badger Ordnance M24 Drop in Box Magazine Trigger Guard out on TacSwap right now. Not mine, don't even know the seller. Just putting it out there.

That's great news but I'm afraid the Tenebraex is a bigger, more rare, unicorn than the EMA. Don't give up the search and keep your fingers crossed. What I didn't photograph here is the Bulter Creek style lens cap with the Tenebraex "See not Seen" branded lid.

FYI folks, there is a eBay auction for a EMA filter if you're looking for one to complete the set. Not my auction, don't even know who or how much just now, only that I saw it in passing.

FYI I asked for a black M2 Turret because I needed more contrast on the markings for low light conditions. White on Black was the ticket, White on FDE is difficult to see in limited visibility.

I had a M118LR turret for mine and it had a NSN and a Leupold part number though I couldn't tell you what it was. I even had a black M2 turret for M118LR for the FDE M110 scope, again it had a Leupold part number and wasn't a custom turret.

Well for me, that explains why there are all these empty receivers in the wild now. They came off the M24E (M2010) rifles when they returned them to Remington again. I never liked the M2010 conversion program and many I know of didn't either. I think, we the US Taxpayers, were duped. Taking...

The RR prefix is a clear indicator that this rifle was built by Remington as part of the Re-Issue campaign. The barrel date code will likely put you into the 2013 or later time frame. I can't make out the 2 letters on the barrel from your picture but that will definitively tell you when it...

There's a pretty nice 1987 M3a Scope on eBay. Period correct for the M24 test bed rifles of 1987.

    Army M24 Build Thread

Yes I did indeed say a WB370 would work but it's only a substitute, not actually period correct. A modified WB490 is the correct rear base when coupled with the Remington produced front sight base or the Redfield equivalent front sight base. If you go for the RPA Tracker rear sight base then...

Nonsense, you didn't ruin it. Looks even better now in the environment than it did in the pic you sent me.

Paint job indicates that you need a McCann rail to flesh this guy out. Nice.
