    7wsm Build Help

Re: 7wsm Build Help If you are going to run a short action and shoot the long VLD's I would definitely go with the Seekins DBM. Everything else looks good. My 7wsm Predator long action Krieger varmint contour 25" (fluted) Mcmillan adj. HTG NF 5.5-22 So far I haven't found anything that I...

Re: Nightforce Shot Show Flyers *Leaked* What about the higher power FFP that a few people were hinting about? I guess it is a no go?

    Finding the lands question

Re: Finding the lands question If you get the neck tension right it will work. Make sure that the bullet doesn't pull back out when extract the round. The bullet can get stuck in the lands and pull it out several thousandths. If you can repeatable measurements you should be good to go.

    Rifle Scopes NF reticle

Re: NF reticle I like the NP-R1. I shoot some local matches and I hunt with the same rifles. When I am shooting matches I use the scope at 22x and when I am hunting I set the power at 11x. Set at 11x I get wider field of view and can use the reticle as NP-R2 with 2 moa elevation hash marks...

    Rifle Scopes NF clarity

Re: NF clarity I have had 3 NF's so far and all of them have had good glass. Is NF glass as good as Zeiss? NO. But the glass is better than most scopes that you will look through except for the European scopes.

    6.5 /284 Norma

Re: 6.5 /284 Norma I have had a lot of success with RL22(52.0 grs, work up to this), WLR primers and Berger 140 VLD's. This load has worked in two different rifles.

Sending mcmillan a stock for adjustable cheek

Re: Sending mcmillan a stock for adjustable cheek I think that the only adj. cheek piece that they will install on any of their stocks after manufacture is the saddle cheek. The others are molded especially for the adjustable cheek piece at the time of the build. I could be wrong though.

i dont know pressure signs, but...

Re: i dont know pressure signs, but... It shouldn't cause any problems. That's what you get with factory chambers. Factory chambers are usually on the big size to ensure that all ammo will chamber. Combine that with some ammo makers that keep specs to a minimum to ensure that their ammo will...

    Berger VLD Difference

Re: Berger VLD Difference If you want to see the difference just load up some of both and shoot them at water filled bottles at longer distances. I was shooting some 1 liter bottles at around 500 yards IIRC with 6mm 95 hunting and target VLD's. The hunting VLD's would blow the bottles apart...

Rifle Scopes changing out a reticle

Re: changing out a reticle For that price I would sell the scope you have and buy a new one with the reticle and adjustments that you want. You will probably come out cheaper in the long run.

Five Dollar find at gun show today!

Re: Five Dollar find at gun show today! I have a Vibrashine and I will have to say it is probably one of the best investments I have made in reloading equipment. I set my powder drop directly above my scale pan. I made a drop tube with a baffle in it so that the powder doesn't go everywhere...

    Gunsmithing Barrel Floating Question

Re: Barrel Floating Question Remington 700's have contact points near the front of forearm to apply a small amount of pressure on the barrel. If you will bed the action first you can save yourself a lot of sanding. When you bed the rifle don't over tighten the action screws. Tighten the...

    Krieger Gain Twist Barrels

I see that Bruno's has Krieger gain twist barrels. Has anybody tried these? What about which twist rate to use? I see that they have a 8.75-8.3 twist listed. Would this accomplish the same thing as a standard 8 twist barrel? David

    Am I too Anal?

Re: Am I too Anal? Definitely keep brass sorted by # of firings. When I start to show signs of failure or other negative signs above 10% of the cases I trash that lot of brass. You can bet that the rest of the brass won't be far behind.
