    AR15 Platform : which caliber for a "do-it-all" (almost) purpose rifle ?

I shoot several of the cartridges mentioned. 6mmAR 6.5mm LBC 6.8 SPC At some point splitting hairs becomes the work, but truly the shot or hunt should be the work, that's what it's all about. This thread contains what you need to make an informed decision, either by direct statements or...

    Switching to Froglube

The biggest issue, in regards to this discussion, is that there is a huge amount of leeway for lubricant selection. In industries, there is no such thing as a cleaner/lubricant, you degrade the performance of either when you combine both functions. Motor oil does have a dispersant to carry...

    Rifle Scopes scope slipping forward?

You lost me on this one. Seekins rings don't have tape, Badger rings don't have tape, Nightforce rings don't have tape, Talley rings don't have tape, APA rings don't have tape, Spuhr rings don't have tape, Leupold rings don't have tape. What is this "a lot of manufacturers" you are referring to?

Thoughts on a 6.5 grendel long range precision rifle for my daughter?

People are suggesting a 6 Creedmore, that is AR10, ie much heavier than an AR15 and likely not suitable for younger shooters.

Needing advise on 5.45x39 AR15 buffer

Use the same buffer as 5.56, nothing special needed. The hammer spring might be required for reliable ignition as the surplus 7n6 ammunition has stout primer cups. As far as the 2 different manufacturers, you are splitting hairs when its all done.

Rifle Scopes I hate Leupold's customer service

Someone asked a question about a leupold optic on the hide here, leupold recorded a video response and posted it on youtube. I don't have the link, was earlier this year. I thought it was a good gesture, it shows that leupold is listening and wanting to participate in the community.

Rifle Scopes Vortex scopes must have an awful lot of problems

Fantastic idea. While I improve those abilities, I suggest you improve your ability to participate in a technical discussion with meaningful input.

Still not seeing it. The insults can be left out by the way.

    300 AAC 245 lead subs/H110

H110 does not have the density to case fill at subsonic load levels, catastrophic failure at minimal case fills is possible, though not probable. The burn may have a wide variation from round to round based on powder settle location in the case. H110 is a fast powder and as such is suited for...

Rifle Scopes Vortex scopes must have an awful lot of problems

I am not smart enough to understand, a Freudian slip has sexual connotations, I am failing to see that.

Rifle Scopes Vortex scopes must have an awful lot of problems

So what you are saying is that because some people value true quality above price, they are douchebags and bashers, paper shooters and safe queens. Gotcha.

Rifle Scopes Vortex scopes must have an awful lot of problems

I don't think your logic completely applies. I have had a Razor for a few years, zero problems. I do not recommend the PST line to friends any longer. A while back I suggested a PST to an individual, on my recommendation he purchased one, the reticle rotated about 5 degrees when the...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold MK6 1-6 CMR-W vs TMR-D

The cmr 7.62 reticle matches much better with the 77gr mk262 ammunition, the cmr 5.56 is matched to higher speed lower weight projectiles. Do not let the reticle names mis lead you in to thinking they are for that, and only that caliber. More important than what you will be mounting the optic...

Rifle Scopes When Will Rifle Optics Catch Up With iTech?

fair enough :-) It was applied to an actual need, the end result was not random. Again, people do not just come up with meaningful ideas, they have to be appropriately applied or they are in fact worthless. Most of those "as seen on tv" products are "great ideas", but very few people in there...

Rifle Scopes When Will Rifle Optics Catch Up With iTech?

No, there really does need to be a problem, also called a need at time. The term "necessity is the mother of invention" was not misguided wisdom. Every modern advancement known has been a result of this. People don't just stumble on break throughs fucking around in the garage on sunday...
