Frog lube was 2012's Tickle Me Elmo. Get some real oil and don't look back. Pull the dipstick out of your car or lawnmower if you have to; any oil should be more than adequate for an AR15.
What good is the disassembly feature if you can't get a barrel in anything other than .308? I'll wait...........
And LaRue's stock looks like an abortion.
What does LaRue do better than JP? They build a solid "battle" rifle, but that's it. Their rifles don't do anything better than any other quality battle rifle.
JP is arguably the most innovative and copied company in the AR industry. For example, they've been doing low mass bolt carriers...
If I'm understanding you properly, why not rig up an electric/magnetic actuator (similar to coil tattoo gun) for the trigger. Use a toggle switch for the master power and a starter button like used in a race car? Wire it all up into a small handheld box that also holds the battery.
The only rings I have used that have a higher spec are the Seekins; their ring to base T-25 screws are 55inlbs, so I use my torque wrench. Otherwise, NF rings are what I typically use and a torque driver doesn't work for them as they use a nut. For these I use my torque wrench or just tighten by...
What kind of bases and rings are you using? An 8-40 screw is larger than what's used on a standard Rem700 base and it would probably shear around 35inlbs. Anything bigger I use a 1/4" drive torque wrench that is also in inlbs.
Hopefully it works out for you. There are so many good single stages on the market (Hiperfire, CMC, Accuracy Speaks, Timney, JP, POF, Jard, Wilson Combat) that I just don't have the balls to roll the dice on an unknown product.
AR15.com content is 10% decorating your rifle and 90% mouth fucking LaRue. Its amazing that there are multiple threads about "Dillos" and "becoming a member of the LaRuemanati (sp?)". 99% of AR15.COM members would toss LaRue's salad given the chance.
I think you are money ahead buying a "KNS Precision Turned Lower Parts Kit" and an Ergo spring kit, and buying the grip, trigger, selector, bolt catch, and mag release of your choice. KNS pins and detents are much nicer than what come in a standard LPK.
I'm not sure that I buy into the KNS pins being too "soft", but I do buy into the dimensional aspect. In the OP's scenario, he might have a tight hammer pin as he said it functions when the pin retaining screws are loosened to the point in which the pin is allowed to rotate in the receiver...
That's really odd that GAP would use those as it's pretty common knowledge that Geissele specifically says not to use them. I heard some rumblings that Geissele is working with KNS to come up with a compatible set.
Do you have a forward assist upper? If so, check out the forward assist pawl to see if it's damaged. I saw a well known shooter's rifle lock up like a vault after a forward assist broke.
