The action length is the same, the difference is the bolt stop. Considering they’re both short action cartridges you should just need a barrel, bolt, and magazine. Complete bolt assembly to change, not just a bolt head.
Yes, switch barrel rig is what I’m building with it. Started with a couple take off Savage barrels (22” 223 that’s on it currently, and a 24” LRH 300WM) because I got them cheap, but I’m gonna go shouldered Prefit from now on. 223-37XC on the same platform… sounds damn good to me!
The 223 ammo...
Finally got it all together after solving some manufacturing issues with the chassis. As a LA 223Rem it runs better than I thought it would, but you definitely have to put some intention into closing the bolt.
All in all it’s pretty much everything I want, and the couple changes I have thought...
Just tried it with my .223 barrel (albeit a single shot sled not mag fed). It works fine if you put a little authority behind it, doesn’t have to be fast just can’t run it slow and lazy like.
Used a run of the mill lead tipped round at AR mag length which after repeated chambering was a little...
Yeah, I asked Joel about it quite a while ago and he said the same. I went with an ARC CDG and have the .223 bolt face so the mags are about the only thing left for me
Anybody know where the ball bolt knob comes from? It’s not available separately on ARC’s website so I’m thinking it may be a separate mfg. Sent an email to ARC but thought y’all might know
