    I've had 3 1x8 Creedmoor barrels on gas guns and they all actually seemed to like the 123 gr stuff better than the 140 gr stuff. My current barrel shoots 123 Amax or SMK's as good if not better than 140's.

    I want to hunt deer this year with my 308 and/or 6.5 CM ARs, but often there is not time for hearing protection when hunting deer. What would you guys recommend as a muzzle device to replace the comp I target shoot with that will be softer on the ears?

If I use the measurements in the diagram and adjust the clearances for a .936 barrel and take measurements from the JP gas block I have here, then it is very tight.     Timney run low $200's. I got one a few months ago on a group buy on PM for $172. You can make it fine with a Burris PEPR mount also. I have several with no problems at about $79. I prefer the non QD in that though. If QD the ADM is better and cheaper than Larue (Larue is good stuff though)...

    The Larues are great but so are the AD's and they are cheaper. Bobro looks good but haven't tried one. I also got an armadillo bottle opener with my mount and my seasoning :)

    I think ORD is dead on. No matter what you do about your barrel you are going to need a better trigger, optic, and ammo. But after that, I think you probably still need a barrel to get to where you want to be.
