Re: Dump trucks and cracked windshields
Having been in management and ownership situations for quarries in several states, I can state quantitatively that getting the company doing the hauling to pay is pretty hard if they really don't want to do so. Most will do so if they feel that the...

Re: LRF Zeiss PRF or Leica 1200
Have not had the best of luck with the new compact Leica's. Bought a Zeiss because of what I read on the LO site (sorry, Scott, didn't buy it from you...found it on close-out at a sporting goods store for a ridiculously low price) and have ranged to 1392 with...
Re: Afghan Mineral Stock Pile
Without thorough exploration, I'm not sure how they're actually able to quantify that. A bunch of geologists running around the countryside taking grab samples doesn't mean jack shit. You need core drilling to determine numbers like that. Nah...B.S., I say...
Re: Angled foregrip, any opinions?
I thought that I would love it because of the way that I've ran an AR with a VFG but, when I put an AFG on a carbine, I found out that I absolutely despised it. Didn't fit me AT ALL. Right back to Brownells it went.
Re: My co-worker and good friend passed away....
Some similarity to my father.
Back in August or early September of last year he lifted a lawn mower and thought he had pulled a muscle in his back...badly. He didn't go to the doctor to see what had happened, just assumed that he would heal...
Re: I guess I should break down and get an AR .....
Go to Paul Howe's site (www.combatshootingandtactics.com) and read what he has to say about various AR brands.
Re: What is the best knife steel?????
What handgun caliber is most effective?
Same sort of question. Any of the steels listed is fine for the uses for which a knife is intended. If you want some super-knife that you want to use for chopping wood, kitchen usage, and doing PRK surgery, then...
Re: My Dad passed away..............
My condolences to you. I lost my dad in December due to cancer and complications from other health issues. Still sorting things out mentally and emotionally and probably will be for some time.
I've had numerous examples of PSS, LTR, and VS stocks but have never used a sporter stock from HS Precision and wondered just how narrow the forearm was on them. I would be putting it on a Remington long action. Is the forearm as narrow (or narrower) than the factory wood stocks?
Re: who uses automatic transmission fluid as lubricant
Use an open gear lube. Designed to have some viscosity because it's used in an open application but it also has to have great lubricity. I work in the mining industry where this stuff is used all the time in HARSH applications and it...
Re: Bushmaster 20" Predator upper ??
Not a Predator but my 24" Varminter was not picky at all and shot everything that I tried with remarkable accuracy. I was raised being told that the platform was inaccurate (my dad was in Vietnam with early M16's) but that changed my mind.
