Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

As stated previously, usually happens on the 2nd for me but it’s not a hard rule. He’ll know it’s fully formed when if fails the wheeler drop test he’s already added to his skill set and process. That’s the method I use as well as it’s a definitive indicator, no need to designate an arbitrary...

Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

His first firing is not the reference point as his shoulder did not fireform to the chamber fully. He has no idea how far his unsized brass shoulder is short from the chamber headspace at this point. Could still be .001 off or .010 off.

Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

It’s the first firing, he doesn’t even know where his headspace is yet. To your point about brass lasting, continually bumping the shoulder excessively to his barrels headspace will probably kill it faster than anything. I bump to .002 under actual barrel headspace. With quality brass, rarely...

Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

If you feel you got the whole neck, which sounds like you did if getting a free fall bolt drop, would just load and shoot.

    22 ARC

Stoked to get some feedback on how the proof factory prefits do, especially on the shorter lengths they are offering. My six yo wants to shoot his first deer next season. I was ready to set him up in .223 around the 77gr tmk when I saw that proof is going to go the arc in prefits. Thought it...

    22 ARC

If it’s working for you in the Grendel at a similar barrel length and you’re going to be shooting heavies in the 22, might as well use it as a starting point. Thinking grendel, br, and dasher common powders will be in play depending on barrel length and projectile. CFE223 always did the best...

Forster coax so you don’t have to deal with spare toolheads but dies are still always set.

Is there a list of cartridges the medium is appropriate for? Wishful thinking that a 7prc would fit?

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Well Santa came through. What are y’all using for small cases? I’d like one to protect it and just large enough to fit the garmin, area 419 rail (unmounted), factory tripod, and maybe a backup battery.

    Wow FX Panthera

So sounds like the others are commercial units. If I’m just going to fill the gun’s onboard tank at the house every few days, is it good enough given the 7x cost difference? Don’t see myself needing to fill scuba tanks, let alone quickly or multiple back to back. What’s common on the moisture...

what is the advantage of those units over something like the UK made Hill that’s $600? Speed?

    Wow FX Panthera

Slightly different barrel for slugs than pellets? My primary use for the gun is to practice positional shooting in the backyard at ~25yds. Accuracy in a platform that feel like a precision rifle ergonomically is a must. Power not real important. Not necessarily opposed to a slug gun but I...
