Re: Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 Scope
I'd suggest the NP-R1. On the 5.5-22 you have 20 moa of hold over (each point being 1 moa) and then you have 10 moa on either side of center for wind (2 moa each). It's a nice - clean and thin reticle that's very easy to use.
Why not a 56mm objective?
Re: PGW coyote has arrived.
Hey Bill....glad to hear it arrived. A couple of things I've noticed with these rifles. First off the bolt will cycle rough the first 100 or so rounds. On both my Timberwolf and Coyote the raceways were coated and it took a while for it to smoothen up. Secondly...
Re: 338 Lapua reloading press and die recommmendation
COAX press, RCBS Gold Medal bushing neck die, Forster ultra micrometer seater. I've been able to produce some very consistent reloads with this set-up.
Re: Exbal Ballistic Pocket PC - Question
That is strange. I'm using the Exbal 6.0 version on windows mobile and I've never had that problem. Give them a call and see what they have to tell you.

Re: Weight....Throw.....?????
I like to weigh my charges. I've been using a Dillon electronic scale for years and it has served me quite well. I'll throw a charge and then trickle the rest on.....usually 0.5 grains or so to top it off. I just bought an Acculab so now I'll see if the extra $$...

Re: Anyone shooting 308 with 45 + grains of Varget?
There has been some talk about Varget being inconsistent between lots so I'd be careful when using someone else's load data....especially when that data is near max. I have pushed 155 scenars at 2933ft/s with 45.7grs Varget. Lapua brass...
Re: Vertical Stringing
If I was you the first thing I'd do is ditch the lead sled and get a good front rest and rear bag. Then I'd read this excellent article:

It worked for me so it should for you! Good...
Re: 338 lapua primer seating on new brass
The primers should be seated at a consistent depth slightly below the case. I have the older RCBS hand priming tool. It's the one that has no tray attached to it. I can adjust the primer seating depth by unscrewing or screwing in the primer rod. I'm...

Re: Whidden Bullet Pointing on 300gr SMK ?
The question is will there be any accuracy gain from it. We all can agree that making ammo as consistent and uniform as possible is to our benefit....but...has anyone acually tested this at 1000+ yards for gains in accuracy?
Re: anyone using exbal on a handheld? do u like it ??
I'm running the Nightforce version of Exbal on an iPaq 110. There are a few things that I don't like about the mobile Exbal program. Firstly the trajectory validation only works below 1000. Let's face it, 1000 yards for some is too far...
Re: New .338 Lapua Tac Rig
Darrell,
Nice rifle. Which 300's are you using to get 2750fps...Scenars or SMK's or...? Also, what velocity are you pushing the 250's at and have you tested either the 250's or 300's at or past 1 mile?
Thanks,
Chris
Re: 338 lapua or 338 win
For starters the 338 Lapua has a substantially bigger fuel tank than the 338 WinMag. This allows you to shoot a 250 gr bullet at +/-3000fps or a 300 gr bullet at around 2800 fps. The long range ballistics of the Lapua are better. As mentioned the 7WSM is a good...
Re: Wilson or Les Baer 1911?
I have a Wilson CQB 45acp that I bought new around 5 years ago. I've shot probably in excess of 5000+ rounds through that pistol....with....2 failures. The 2 failures I had were ammo related and they didn't put my pistol out of service. I don't have any...
