    Prices for used TRG-22 rifles?

There's nothing wrong with used, especially with a high-quality rifle like a TRG, especially when you stand to save anywhere from 15-30% versus new. I just bought one used on gunbroker, but they don't come up that often. Much like an AI, the people who have them are generally happy to keep them...

Gunsmithing Input on what happened to this brass...

In engineering, we use safety factors, i.e. Calculate the strength of a given assembly, then apply a safety factor of 2, and tell the customer that it's safe for half of the calculated strength. We KNOW that at some point, everything will fail, it's a fact of design and engineering. We also know...

    Gunsmithing Remington Bolt Handle/Knob Redux

I love it, nice work! Shoulder bolts make nice blanks for this kind of handle, saves threading on one end at least. -matt

    Ruger M77?

They're hit or miss and aftermarket support is severely lacking, I'd pass. Get a Remington, Tikka, Howa, Winchester, etc. -matt

What Action Should I Get?? 338 Build

Just a thought. Cheaper than a custom build and has an integral rail with a metal-on-metal recoil lug system, will shoot as well as many customs as well. Sako TRG-42 - TRG42 sale! 338 Lapua Magnum - EuroOptic.com -matt

Gunsmithing Input on what happened to this brass...

The original post bears repeating, I don't know how you could more directly say the gun was at fault without saying "My Savage blew up because it was built wrong." This line is a gem too, seeing as how they were handloads intentionally placed into the OP's rifle. This whole attitude of...

McMillan SSG69 stock - cheekpiece bolts coming loose

These are the AI spacers I was referring to, you should be able to come up with something similar for your McMillan. http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/s4-sniper%92s-hide%AE-equipment/63101-accu-stack-aics-cheek-risers.html -matt

McMillan SSG69 stock - cheekpiece bolts coming loose

One option may be to use spacers under the cheekpiece, this is a popular option for the AI cheekrest. By supporting the cheekpiece with spacers, it physically can't go any lower, and it will take some load off of the screws, which should help to keep them tight. It doesn't have to be anything...

    Bought my first TRG

Thanks, and you're right, that one was yours! I'm not sure when I'll get my second TRG, but it will be at some point after getting my 'first' AI ;) -matt

    Bought my first TRG

Very true, and that definitely applies here in MN. The one that I removed was a cheaper design than what's on there now, it appears to me that the handle it came with uses the same knob that's sold to fit on Tikka T3 bolt handles. -matt

    Bought my first TRG

I actually already switched it for an older design of TRG knob ;) It had the setscrew design and I switched it for the one with a phenolic knob that threads onto an 8mm stem. -matt

    Bought my first TRG

I'm flattered that you'd bow out so gracefully. I hope you rest peacefully knowing that I'll be shooting your AI and enjoying your wife's homemade apple pie... In all seriousness, I need to get back out there to do some shooting with you and Brandon. -matt

    Bought my first TRG

Thanks! I'm sure it will go well, I've never heard anyone complain about the accuracy of their TRG. I mainly want to see how the stock is to get behind at the range, it feels really comfortable dry-firing, but I'm sure it will really shine when I actually get to puts rounds downrange. -matt

    Bought my first TRG

Ah, sorry about that, figured that being in Charleston you may have shot with him. In any case, if you do happen to meet up with him you can punch him in the face and hit on his wife for me. :D -matt
