    Fieldcraft Map Reading Course

Re: Map Reading Course Yeah, always carry an issue protractor in my field notebook, but with the silva you can still be fairly accuracte without it, just marking your MV onto it with a map marker.Fortunatly Silva makes mil compasses, and its lensatic window works great for night Nav...

Boot's, What are you guys wearing?

Re: Boot's, What are you guy's wearing? meindls, Desert Fox, kampfstiefel and Eagles. Good balance of comfort and durability. I find most boots down the "soft" end of the range, although comfortable dont last more than a couple of weeks fieldtime.

Fieldcraft Best way to quiet velcro for field use

Re: Best way to quiet velcro for field use I just use scraps of the opposite side of velcro to cover all but a small part of the matching velcro, leaving just enough to keep it closed.

    Weather conditions

Re: Weather conditions Yeah, cant see an app giving you any actual data outside of metservice feeds. Weather meters being as cheap as they are these days its definetly the way to go.
