Hunting & Fishing Turkeys nesting?
If a hens nest gets broke up early,( by predators, storms or hay mowers, ) they will try to reset.......this leads to the strutting observed in early summer............I have not been lucky enough to find the late nest but I have witness the late breeding activities........Hope this helped.........- kytrapper

What is the most Historically Significant Cartridge?
Sihr correct.............the date I found on the .22 bb cap is 1845............ I just opt for the first cartridge chambered in a repeating rifle...........and it was made in USA........seems like it was a busy time full on some smart minds..............- kytrapper

While the cartridges mentioned were in fine weapons and dominated the Fields of there era, I vote for the .52 cal rimfire...........Patented in 1854 and adopt in 1860 in the spencer rifle in what I believe was the first offical military repeating rifle. Re: Finishing Striped Walnut thanks xs, I did use tung oil finish....got a few coats on now....stripes are still showing!!! I am skeered i will jack it up but I will wet sand after holes for my sling studs and butt plate are drilled ...........- kytrapper

Re: Finishing Striped Walnut Thanks for the suggestions...I had to fill a couple of knots I used epoxy.....I mixed ome fine walnut dust in will this cause a problem with using tung or linseed? ltfirehunter.....there is some lightstripe visible I am wanting to make them stand out a little...- kytrapper
