9x is plenty for 800yd depending on your target. Sure, it may not win F class, but Palma guys shoot 1K with irons. I've personally shot 400yd with irons. As long as you don't have to ID a target at that range, 1x is fine for very long distances, 9x is even better. But, good deal or not...- Caliper

Ruger American 308
Has anyone made up a bull barrel for these yet? Three lug bolt looks very nice, and I like Ruger in general plus the barel nut would make swaps easy. Would be cool to have another choice in affordable actions for a long distance build.- Caliper

Mosin Nagant Build (collectors beware)
When you say that, remember that over 14 MILLION K98's were produced as well. Nice looking Mosin though, looks good when done right instead of just hacking things. 1.5 MOA with the original barrel and factory ammo is good! Try it with some handloads and match quality .310 bullets!- Caliper
