Barrel type for longer life considerations

Comparing throat erosion between a 308, 7/08, and 7prcw is pointless. I've heard of folks getting a lot of life out of factory hammer forged tikka barrels though.

    Suppressors SiCo Scythe review

@Supersubes can you help me with a measurement of tube length not including the brake. I ordered a mirage cover and they need that dimension. I've read 5.8", maybe 5.7" would be a safe dimension to provide?

    Realistic timeframe?

If you can get inletting services for $375 that's cool. I thought LRI quoted a fair bit more than that in the past. For $1800 a guy can have a seekins ph2..

The direct thread adapter looks to be flush and thus does not add length.

    6mm creedmoor short barrel

My 18" 6 creed shoots 108s in the 2740-2800 range. Have no desire to shoot varmint bullets with it so cant help you there. No idea why what your looking for wouldn't work fine.

    Realistic timeframe?

Yeah, the upcharge was about the price of an entire savage rifle IIRC so to pay that and still have a savage just seems like a lousy choice. Maybe others do it for far cheaper though?

    Realistic timeframe?

The last time i saw LRI quotes to inlet a flat top it made me wonder why anyone would spend that kind of $ vs just using the money towards an action that has stocks already inletting for it.

    Barrel threading for suppressor

Yeah, just ship it somewhere if there isn't someone in your back yard.

Rifle Scopes ZCO Hunter scope at the IWA event

I'm just interested in them in concept but it makes more sense to me on higher mag scopes where the reticle is less useful at low power but then again I don't think a hunting rifle needs more than 15x anyway. The new maven 2.5-15 does just fine with a functional FFP reticle in that 1.5-15...

Rifle Scopes ZCO Hunter scope at the IWA event

Richard, I don't care. Like most others, I haven't a logical reason for a $3k+ 12x power, 36mm tubed, 28+ ounce hunting scope. I'm just curious about if it's dual focal plane because i find that feature intriguing and would be a benefit in theory if it became more common in the future.

Rifle Scopes ZCO Hunter scope at the IWA event

Dudes creaming themselves over a 7x erector.. No wonder we don’t get the best functional options built when the market keeps asking for stupid shit. Did anyone ever clarify if this thing is a dual focal plane scope? Edit to ask: @koshkin - it seems established that high erector rates I.E. 8x...

    KRG Echo Chassis

Huh? if it's stiff enough to use a bipod or the forearm as a front rest it should be stiff enough for a rail. The only question Id have is how does an arca fasten to it. From pics there are a bunch of holes in the bottom that might work for that purpose?

    KRG Echo Chassis

I can’t decipher what you’re talking about with the fore end. It’s a sub $400 mass produced plastic chassis. All sub $400 plastic chassis are fugly. bravo less so than some. I never thought to worry about whether the cheap plastic panels on my budget chassis were perfectly lined up but I do love...

Leupold CDS Dial for CCI Standard?

So not a particularly precise shooting weapon i'd assume. If you don't have a kestrel or range finder with ballistic calculator on board, a CDS might get you close for spraying with 22. Not what I'd be interested in but it might fit the bill for you. You'd be well suited to get actual velocity...

    Ignition blueprint/trueing

I'm pretty ignorant on most of this but from what I gather many smiths dont dick with this stuff. Known action, known trigger, cocks and goes boom without notable issue or feeling off - good to go. Someone correct me if that is off base? I've watched taylor stratton's videos with great interest...

Impact Wrench to install Action...For real?

Didn't watch the video but there's a shit ton of structural fasteners with engineer torque specs that are installed using a calibrated hammer drill or impact. If he's just tightening it up to index and has the torque of the drill turned down, who cares? There's a number of quick change barrel...

Leupold CDS Dial for CCI Standard?

The CDS system sells a shit ton of scopes for them to people who don't understand ballistics and are sold on the idea that if they just buy a CDS scope they don't have to learn or understand ballistics. I guarantee their sales would go way down if they didn't offer it because of that. @mn_308 -...

Suppressors New TBAC cans for 2024

Huh. Guess i better get a bravo anchor brake and flat ti endcap for my sico scythe before the ATF decides to clarify that end caps are weapons. Also curious how the recoil reduction from the new RR model brakes compares to the Sico Anchor brake. Haven't seen detailed test values like TBAC did...

    Gunsmithing Borescope question

JA outdoors has them occasionally for in the $150 neighborhood. I've seen a lot of them for sale on forum classifieds, rokslide in particular. They are on Ebay as well. Lots of people using tikka rifles for donor actions these days and they keep tolerances tight enough that a factory barrel...
