Re: Has anyone here used SWFA's trade in program?
I got an appraisal the same day from Dave. But then about a week went by after my trades had been delivered. I figured they needed time for a the guns to clear a pawn ticket or something, but he sent me an email today that he was sick all last...
Re: Stock suggestion for SPS Varmint
I would go with the B&C stock. I have two of the light tacticals, and two HS stocks. I prefer the B&C stock for the palm swell and better inletting. The light tactical is not square like the medalist.
Re: Mk 262 copy
From my understanding, RL15 is generally the powder used to load the 77 grain match loads for the military shooting teams. It was found too temperature sensetive for use in combat weapons, though.
Though reloaders don't have access to the specific bulk powder that Black...
Re: Rem 700P restock and barrel??
Cut it to 20" if you want!
You won't loose any appreciable velocity, and may gain a little accuracy from the resulting stiffer barrel. It will handle much better too. There will be an increase in recoil with a lighter stock and barrel, but it should still...
Re: newbie question on elk rifle
I would make the choice based on what type of terrain you will be hunting in. If is in thick trees and brush, the 45-70 will help you get off a quick shot, and you won't have to worry about its limited range. If you are hunting in open country, a scoped 7mm...

Re: Cold barrel POI shift - is this normal? WTF?
I'm not an expert in the area, but that is the first thing to come to mind with that much of shift. I am not sure what rail system you have, but If you can rotate the barrel or rail at all, that would be a sign that it may be loose. This...
Re: fn spr
One of the good things about the Winchester/FN short mag actions is that they are longer, and have a longer magazine than the comparable remington or tikka rifles. You can take advantage of this when handloading, and seat the bullets much further out.
I have a Winchester Coyote in...
Re: AR-10 carbine - Suggestions
There aren't any now, but I have recently seen AR-10 carbines go for $1250 or a little less over on arfcom. The one linked is a stainles T model, which usually cost about $300 dollars more than the standard A4 model from the factory.
Re: Varget vs. IMR 4895 vs. RE-15
I have used Varget quite a bit, but I now have 32 lbs of RG 4895 from Wideners, so I think I'll be using 4895 a lot more.
Re: My Frankenstein AR build
Its the Millet DMS scope. It has worked fine for me, but I don't really use it too hard, just at the range and coyote hunting.
Re: Has anyone here used SWFA's trade in program?
Rescue swimmer, did they offer you 20% of the price of a new Aimpoint, or 20% less than the price of a new one?
I have ordered pretty much all of my scopes from SWFA over a period of about 9 years, and have been completely satisfied.
Re: My Frankenstein AR build
Here it is:
I replaced the CavArms stock with a Magpul. But I left out the Smith Enterprise Vortex. So, it still has parts from 7 manufacturers. Long live frankenrifles!
Re: My Frankenstein AR build
Looks like a nice rifle to me!
My best AR has parts from Armalite, Daniel Defense, Rock River, Magpul, CavArms, Ametec, and LMT.
If its for shooting, and not for show, get the best parts for the money.
