Advice Ideas on a guitar build

This is an excellent point, since the OP is not a player and may not understand. If it’s a standard Strat scale-length, it should be 25.5”. Here’s a good reference: https://leftyfretz.com/guitar-scale-length-explained/#1

Advice Ideas on a guitar build

You said it started as a Fender Strat? If you will notice, the cutout in the body on the bottom side of the neck extends all the way back to the 21st fret. Your body/neck intersection stops at the 15th. Either way, nobody’s playing anything above the 15th on your design. I’m not saying that’s...

Advice Ideas on a guitar build

To the OP, kinda too late to ask if you’ve already routed for the neck, but access to anything beyond the 15th fret is a hard stop. If it’s just for rhythm playing, it won’t matter.

Micron Precision Bushing Sizer Not Compatible With Zero Press?

Has anyone experienced this? I'm having a lot of trouble with clickers on my 300NM, using a Redding Type-S bushing full-length sizing die. I did some research and a lot of people have had good results with the Micron dies. They are out of stock for the 300NM currently, but I saw on their FAQs...

    Amos Moses Dead at 42

Jerry Reed song, lyrics from which I quoted above. YouTube it - it’s worth the listen. Oops, nevermind, already linked above!

    Amos Moses Dead at 42

Good thing it wasn’t a Louisiana Sheriff after him, that didn’t turn out well for the Sheriff: He went in the swamp, gonna get the boy, but he never came out again. Well, I wonder where the Louisiana Sheriff went to? You can sho’ get lost in a Louisiana bayou.

Recommended Factory Berger 300 Norma for 20” 1/8 twist barrel

What @Rocketmandb said about SD at distance is definitely true. I think Chris Wray did an article on here somewhere where he actually quantified it to a degree, and tied it to Time Of Flight (TOF) rather than specific distances. Paraphrasing and sort of guessing at what numbers I can remember...

Recommended Factory Berger 300 Norma for 20” 1/8 twist barrel

Berger 230 OTM Tactical ammo gave best performance for me out of the few factory options available (Federal Premium, Norma, and…that’s about it besides Berger). It gave best ES/SD of the three. While I have seen it occasionally as bad as mentioned in the previous post, I usually find it a good...

Mmm, I don’t think so with the Quick-Locs. The video you mention is Jake Bynum from Rifles Only, with a non Quick- Loc action. They are supposed to be torqued to a specific (higher) value, and the point of his video was that “whatever”that specific value is, isn’t that important. Just good and...

I think you're confusing two different AI barrel systems, maybe? You referenced a pic of an AXSR and asked about barrel flats and strap wrenches, etc. "Hand-tight" is what is SPECIFIED in the manual for the AXMC, AXSR, and other platforms that use the Quick-Loc barrel system. Hand-tight sets the...

    Ingenuity Powder System

Exactly (now 9 days). So, since the website still says "May" (of this year :)), has anyone heard the new date he's projecting? It seems like most of the time he posts that info on sites other than this one when he does.

    300 Norma H-1000 max?

Beautiful! I think I have a sizing die problem. I'm using a Redding Type-S full-length die and bumping shoulders .002, and still getting clickers all the way down to 78.0gr Retumbo.

    Presidential Plane Kerfluffle

Yep. As I said, a "tale" of inter-service rivalry. Probably a grain of truth and the rest for entertainment, but funny nonetheless. Capt. Billie Del "Bill" Johnson. VP-1. He was an incredible pilot, and recognized by the Alabama FSDO as an FAA Master Pilot. After retirement from the USN he...

    Presidential Plane Kerfluffle

One of my aviation mentors - Navy Captain, Viet Nam vet, former P2V Neptune and P3 Orion submarine hunter pilot, used to tell the tale of a P3 on final approach at a USAF B-52 base. Tower addresses the P3 as "Navy light-aircraft" (the P3 is a 4-engine turboprop nearly as big as a C-130, but this...

    Joe Biden Has Cancer

I've not read this thread, and I'm sure someone has probably already said it, but WHY IN HELL would we believe ANYTHING they have to say about the health status of Joe Biden? For the last four years they have aggressively insisted he was as "sharp as a tack" when even the most casual observation...
