Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp.

Re: Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp. At 6mmBR the load map is dominated by 4064, followed by Reloader 15. They show the 162 being pushed by 40.3 grains of 4064 for 2670fps. This isn't the improved of course, but it might be a good starting point. You may have already looked at...

Re: Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp. What weight bullets are you planning to do the tests with?

    Barrels for 6.5X47L

Re: Barrels for 6.5X47L I've heard good things about all of them. I originally looked into a Pac Nor, but the smith I was going to use had a bad experience with them and wouldn't use them anymore. Then after talking to the new smith I went for the Broughton. I don't know about performance yet...

Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp.

Re: Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp. I agree with Greg for the most part. Do you really think the throat and bore wear wold make that much of a difference with a small round count like that? I'm not second guessing you here, I'm really just wondering. If so I guess the only way...

Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp.

Re: Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp. I think it would be a hit or miss since no two barrels are identical. However I do think it would be a great resource for others going to 7-08 imp. I don't think the loads you work up would be that easily transferrable to another without some...

Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp.

Re: Thoughts on Barrel length for the 7mm-08 imp. I would like to see how the 18-20" performs as well. I'm thinking my next build will be either a short 7-08 or possibly 6.5 Creedmoor.

Rifle Scopes Wonders optics vs. Falcon Menace?

Re: Wonders optics vs. Falcon Menace? RC2125, that's good to hear, and makes me want one even more now. I've been leaning towards the Falcon 4-14 for awhile now, but just haven't bit the bullet on one yet. Once my build is finished the Nighforce is going on it, and this would go on my sps. I...

Chrome BCG... is it worth it?

Re: Chrome BCG... is it worth it? It was rough waiting, but not too bad since I didn't have all the parts I needed to finish it. If you're paying with a debit card watch your account. I was told they were going to charge it immediately, but they didn't charge me until it shipped.

Rifle Scopes Wonders optics vs. Falcon Menace?

Re: Wonders optics vs. Falcon Menace? I've been wondering the same thing too, and I'll be needing a new scope shortly. I've heard good things about both, but don't know which to go with.

Possible Sniper's Hide Spec Built Caliber Choices

Re: Possible Sniper's Hide Spec Built Caliber Choices I wouldn't mind seeing the Creedmoor. I'm having a .308 built currently, so I'd be up for anything other than that.

Chrome BCG... is it worth it?

Re: Chrome BCG... is it worth it? You made a good choice, I bought the same BCG for my varmint build. It'll probably be more like 5 weeks though. I was quoted 2-3 weeks and it ended up being 5.

    Favorite Bolt to Manipulate

Re: Favorite Bolt to Manipulate I'm hoping a Stiller will be my favorite, but I'm still waiting on it to be finished. Waiting sucks.

    Anyone shooting a Broughton .308 under 24"

Re: Anyone shooting a Broughton .308 under 24" I've been wondering the same thing. I'm having a rifle built, and it'll use a Broughton 5c. I thought I'd want it around 24-25" but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. Onemnoretime - Why do you wish you had gone to 18"?

Re: Accuracy International Pics This is beautiful, great job on the paint. What did you use to get this pattern? Was it just natural foilage?

    Krieger barrels

Re: Krieger barrels I ordered a Krieger for my AR build, and had it in a week and a few days. It doesn't have any fluting or anything, just cut to 22". I haven't had it chambered or installed yet so I don't know about the performance of it. It sure does look pretty sitting there though.

So who doesn't own an AR?

Re: So who doesn't own an AR? I currently own pieces of one, and waiting for other pieces so it can be put together. It'll be a varmint style rig with a Krieger barrel. Since getting the build started on my .308 I have just about decided to assemble the AR and sell it. They're fun to play...

The Pierce 6.5x47 Lapua build is here!!!

Re: The Pierce 6.5x47 Lapua build is here!!! Absolutely beautiful rig. I'm beginning to wish I had gone with the 6.5x47 instead of a .308 for my build.

Re: new member Welcome to the Hide. I also used to bowhunt, but slowly started drifting away from it. I'd love the chance to hunt elk, but we don't really have those around here.
