    It's not as easy in the spring, they are below snow line so that often puts them on private land. Where they are on public land it is usually hunted pretty hard. Good luck. I grew up turkey hunting in the south, the birds here in CO seem to be easier to call in when you can find them on public land.

    I have both, almost, 260rem and 280rem killed 19 elk in the last 6 years with both out to 630 yards. Would go with 7mm-08 with 150gr ABLR.
