Gunsmithing Bedding a Bell & Carlson A2 stock

Re: Bedding a Bell & Carlson A2 stock The age old question...to bed, or not. Just because you have torqued your action screws, rechecked the torque, and rechecked again, the recoil will allow the action to move in the stock. Why? (several could write MULTIPLE pages on the engineering and...

Gunsmithing DIY savage bolt lift kit...

Re: DIY savage bolt lift kit... Trim or shim....otherwise, you increase the spring rate a touch. Instead of a ball bearing, you can also use a 1/8" threaded set screw. But, adds expense if you do not already own the appropriate drill bit and tap to thread the case head. DOES allow you to...

    Gunsmithing Release agent

Re: Release agent Carnuba car wax - works every time. I use this for bedding stocks and scope bases. Are you scuffing the bottoms of the scope bases with your dremel first? Also, leave an 1/8" gap around the screw holes in the bases. The bedding will flow when you tighten everything...

    L & S Ultra Scope - Any info?

Purchased an L & S Ultra fixed 16x40. Emailed Leupold and they advised this a former government owned scope probably sold off in government auction. This is NOT stolen - the reason I sent the serial number in. Has M1 turrets, etched reticle, and is side focus. Basically, a better Mark 4...

Re: I picked up a K 31 this week. 284 Winchester brass, necked up to 30 caliber, works PERFECTLY in K31's....by the way. Work your loads up as normal. Excellent rifles that are VERY accurate. You can shim between the upper forearm and the stock to achieve better accuracy. Lets the barrel...
