    BTW, you can fix the UBR pretty easiliy in any position, but I wouldn't recommend it. UBR is expensive and heavy if you are not planning on adjusting it at all.

    If you are in the LA area, check out LAX ammo (they'll ship to you also). They have Gold Dot 150gr in stock right now - not cheap, but available...you have to order 500 rounds as well ($1.50 / round). They might very well have more in the store if you can make the visit...

    What Aftermarket Mags DPMS LR-.308

    I have had good experience with ASC mags, which you can find right now. ASC come in 5, 10 and 20 round. I had some problems with my DPMS mags, but did a little dremel work and they work OK now (look online for some guidance). PMAGs are great, but difficult to obtain right now.

    Does anyone know if the new style butt pad will work on an early model covert without modification? My dealer seems to think there is a compatibility issue, but I am hopeful he is incorrect. Just ordered the A1 from Alan at Top Notch... very excited.

    I have the 1-4 as well and am highly impressed with the glass. Not to get off topic here, but the battery for illumination, has had to be changed out twice in 6 months after only a cumulative 1 hour or so of illumination (BTW, I store it in off position).

    Re: Tripod Users, Question? I like the 322 for a lighter rifle, but suggest you look at the manfrotto 054 magnesium ball head if you are shooting a heavier set up. The 054 is quite more expensive than the 322, but holds the rifle more steady and I like the adjustability and panning better...

    Re: light/laser setup I like the Viridian X5L line. Had a problem with a C5L (compact model), but never with the X5L. Bright light and laser stays in place well. Fits a P226/229 really well.
