    SDs and ES

Re: SDs and ES I like to get around a 10 for SD. Surprisingly an ES of 100 will often still shoot very well though I don't really on that happening every time!! Work to get it all the same and I guarantee you it will not come out to the 1's and 2's that all the "professionals" get. I've...

LEARN ME 'BOUT 3 PIECE REDDING DIES

Re: LEARN ME 'BOUT 3 PIECE REDDING DIES On new brass I just round the necks with an mandrill from Sinclair. After that I NS only. When they get to tight I'll use the body die. You can usually get quite a few firings out of the case before you have to FL and bump the shoulder. Greg L.

    pact digital scale dispenser

Re: pact digital scale dispenser I have the PACT and have been very pleased with it. I bought the dispenser set up because I had been using one of their scales since the first year they hit the market and it has always been dead on with the various known check weights I use. I did not...

what free Hornady bullet to pick

Re: what free Hornady bullet to pick I have a batch coming from n order I placed in February. I have never waited this long before but I guess they are going as fast as they can. I had ordered 25 cal rifle before and this time went with the 44's. Greg L.

    2 Progressive Press Questions

Re: 2 Progressive Press Questions I have both and for the $$'s the 550 is a better deal. The manual indexing is not as fast but you can observe more like powder levels etc. I use Redding dies on my presses as well as Dillon, Hornady and RCBS. I owned ONE set of Lee's and I loaded about 50...

    Flash Hole Deburring Question

Re: Flash Hole Deburring Question I use the Sinclair tools and find them very good. The flash holes on my 223 based cases are all the same. All my standard cartridges (mostly 308 size and 300 WM head size all use the same flash hole uniformer. I am unfamiliar with any smaller hole size except...

    New Press

Re: New Press I have 3 300's a 550 and a 650 plus a Star. For the $$'s I would go with the 550 due to it's simplicity and cost of conversion units. I use my 650 for 223 based cartridges (204, 20 tactical, 223 and 6X45) but do short runs of other cartridges on the 550. I do some single stage...

Gunsmithing Best way to add a swivel stud for bipod???

Re: Best way to add a swivel stud for bipod??? I'd inlet a metal plate into the stock channel then run the stud up into that. If you don't back it up with some rigid material I don't believe the stud will stay in place. Greg PS: I did this on an XP 100 and it worked very well. -- G.

    remington 513-t match master

Re: remington 513-t match master The first organized rifle match I shot in I used a 513-T in 1964. It was quite an experience shooting a "real" target rifle. It is one of the few left on my, to get" list. Enjoy yourself and make lots of tight groups. Greg L.

Range Report I can screw it up...

Re: I can screw it up... Just a tad over 1 MOA. We all know a puff of wind can cause you that much of an issue. Damn good shooting in any ones book What type rifle were you using? Greg L.

Gunsmithing How much cartridge case to chamber clearance?

Re: How much cartridge case to chamber clearance? I believe in using 0.003 to 0.005. Dirty is a relative term to some guys but 0.005 will cover all your bases and degradation of accuracy will not be that noticeable in my experience. Greg L.

    BDL question

Re: BDL question Around 2.85 but with a smaller round like a 223 the block will cut this down quite a bit and limit you in length of the loaded cartridge. Greg L.

Reloading, the complete cycle... comments welcome

Re: Reloading, the complete cycle... comments welcome Sounds like you have a god system that works for you. I'd just turn down the trimmer pilot to fit your resized cases. I don't understand your having an issue as most pilots are designed for going into the resized neck but it shouldn't...

Which hand prime tool for .338 Lapua?

Re: Which hand prime tool for .338 Lapua? You just need an RCBS#14 shell holder for the RCBS priming tool. Oddly enough this is the same holder for the 45/70. It work fine for you. Greg L.
