    Seating length?

Re: Seating length? Individual bullets vary from bullet to bullet and lotto lot on OAL. The ogive measurement is most important in accuracy as it will determine the jump to the lands. Greg L.

    45 auto powder

Re: 45 auto powder I use Bullseye but as many say it is a"dirty" powder. I have found it advantageous to clean the pistol every 600-750 rounds to make sure I have 100% reliability. Greg L.

    Reloading Records

Re: Reloading Records I keep track of the chronograph and groups sizes on a spread sheet I made up for each rifle I work with. I try to cycle through all the brass I have dedicated to that rifle before reloading a case again. Greg L.

    Primer pocket cleaning

Re: Primer pocket cleaning I don't clean them as a rule. I've never noticed any degradation on group size by not doing this. If I do anything to the pockets it is to uniform them prior to firing and doing the flash holes. The flash hole thing is most important of the two if you ask me. Greg L.

anybody here Gunsmith Reloader Certified thru PSU

Re: anybody here Gunsmith Reloader Certified thru PSU One of the guys here in Phoenix discussed it quite a bit on another board. The certificate will yield you nothing of import. If you can get the FFL going that is your easiest (and cheapest) route. Greg L.

    Gunsmithing Jewell HVR install

Re: Jewell HVR install That is one of the nicest triggers on the market. I've been shooting one on a 700 243 Varmint for several years and it has been completely reliable. Greg L.

Questions about a 22 conversion kit for AR

Re: Questions about a 22 conversion kit for AR I've got the Ceiner with a dedicated upper I built years ago. They are one of the best ways out there to get in more trigger time and if you have an M16 they are great for plinking and blasting at an affordable rate. Greg L.

    Gunsmithing Post-Ban conversion to Pre-Ban

Re: Post-Ban conversion to Pre-Ban AR15.com has a section on removing your current set up. It should not be too difficult with a little patience. Greg L.

    Cleaning question

Re: Cleaning question I use the weed whacker string approach that I learned about on RFC. It does a great job in cleaning the bore. Puling a soaked patch and some dry ones through the bore is very fast and efficient. For the chamber I just use plastic bristled jag. Greg L

    Woops.... shoot or pull?

Re: Woops.... shoot or pull? I'd go ahead and shoot the base ammo. It might surprise you seeing what a change 0.5 grains will make or not as sometimes happens. The chrono data on loads and how a standard increment effects the results is very interesting also. It also tips you off quickly if...

Redding Type S neck bushing die...lube needed?

Re: Redding Type S neck bushing die...lube needed? You should lube for the steel bushings. The coated ones do not require it though I like to use lube with them any way. Decreasing friction can only help the workings in my opinion.

Couple of questions re: reloads in new chamber

Re: Couple of questions re: reloads in new chamber I use a charge of Bullseye powder (12 grains in 338 Win Mag)Put about a 1/4 sheet of toilet paper over the powder. Fill with corn meal and plug the neck with paraffin. Fire them in the rifle, clean barrel and load as usual. BE is cheap and...

Anybody use a Drill Press to trim cases?

Re: Anybody use a Drill Press to trim cases? I don't use the press type but know of a lot of guys that have great luck with it. I have power adapters for my Forster standard trimmer and also have a Gracey that I use quite a bit. Greg

.223 trim to 1.750 what if length is shorter?

Re: .223 trim to 1.750 what if length is shorter? The case length is not a problem. RL 15 does better with the heavier bullets. Alliant lists this for the 62's: .223 Remington Speer 62 gr FMJ IMI 2.255 - CCI 400 Reloder 15 25 2,832 You could start with that but I think I would want to go...

    Who uses Moly?

Re: Who uses Moly? I am using DANZAC on my 20's. It seems to adhere to the bullets better than the MOLY I was using and leaves less residue in the bore. The bore also starts shooting quicker after a cleaning compared with the MOLY. G

    Accurate 2200 Data Powder

Re: Accurate 2200 Data Powder My data does not show it with a 308 load. I'd call or e-mail AA direct for some advice. They have been super responsive to me on questions. Greg

    Fireforming?

Re: Fireforming? I just fought this battle with a 6PPC AR15 I built. Got the barrel used and the chamber is cut way long. I ended up fireforming the cases to get the fit right(they are a lot more accurate now!!) I started with 9 grains of Bullseye and loaded 10 each at 9, 10, 11 and 12...

NEW to relaoding..help for my 1st .223 reloads

Re: NEW to relaoding..help for my 1st .223 reloads Brass brand variation from the book is very common. I'd get one brand of brass and work my loads up using the starting load from the manual and evaluate as I go up. Primers don't usually make that much of a safety difference though you may...
