PRS Talk What barrel profile are you using ?

My current barrel is a Rock Creek sendero , but it's significantly thicker than my previous 3 sendero profiles (all 3 from different manufacturers). I'm wondering if I was sent something else by mistake? How about yours?

    PRS Talk PRS skills stage

So again, just to clarify, if at the end of match 2 shooters have equal points then they will refer to the skill stage. If shooter 1 had 6 hits and a recorded time of 45 seconds and shooter 2 has 4 hits in 35 seconds, then the winner would be shooter 1?

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

That was a genuine question regarding the safety zone beyond the berm. I'm not in the US. I've never said that ND's should not go without penalty. I've only referred to the example in the video, meaning that it's a best case scenario regarding a ND because the rifle was pointing down range.

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

Do your ranges not have a safety zone beyond the berm? I know they do here and it would take a guided missile to get outside that.

    PRS Talk PRS skills stage

Can someone please clarify for me how the skills stage settles a tie? Are the number of hits considered before the time used or is it purely time based? I've been told that even if someone gets zero hits quickly, this will be in favour of the number of hits recorded. Just doesn't seem to "skillful".

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

Yes there should be penalties for ND's and there can be no grey areas. But was that particular one less safe than a missed target? Referring only to the example in the video, given that the rifle was pointed down range, if that projectile landed anywhere "unsafe" then the range safety template...

PRS Talk Negligent Discharges Need To Stop!

I haven't read through the whole thread, only the 1st page and honestly, I agree with this ^^^. The shooter in position and running through the stage. That "ND" is nothing more than a miss. If a miss down range is dangerous, then its the range setup/safety template that is needs correction, not...

Do I need a bubble level?

So much pointless arguing in this thread. We need to rid the world of such hatred. Let's all just have a beer and go bash up a vegan. :giggle:

    Rifle Scopes kahles k525i

I've only recently bought a Kahles k624i. It's my first high end scope so the next best thing I have to compare with is a Bushnell DMR2. So far I'm very happy and my only criticism would be the short and unforgiving eye relief. I originally wanted an SKMR3 but went with a deal on an AMR that I...

    Rifle Scopes kahles k525i

My Kahles has the AMR reticle and only the centre cross is illuminated. I find center illumination much better than full reticle. That's one of the reasons I chose it over the skmr3.

    Maggie’s The butt hurt thread

This thread is not what I thought it was going to be. I was about ready to talk about that night I spent in the watch house :censored:

    Rifle Scopes kahles k525i

Right now I'm upgrading from a DMR2 to a k624i. I considered everything else that's been mentioned so far, but it's the ergonomics that steered me to the kahles and the price difference that turned me off the k525. Surely the k624i can still hold it's own.

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

Well I didn't expect to get this many replies and wasn't aware that this had been discussed in depth before, so thanks. I kinda got the answers I needed within the first half a dozen posts and this has even changed my point of view somewhat. What I take away from this is; Run my match exactly...

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

You are quite right there and I should've said "minimal gear that you would carry on yourself during a hunt" rather than hunting gear, because some hunts require a packhorse or two, and I don't want people bringing those to the line either. "I think it would be more fair, that instead...

    PRS Talk Favorite Bag

The best bag I have is home made. Same canvas and fill materials as the commercially made ones. It's about the same dimensions as a standard house brick with a webbing strap and buckle along one side. The fill is loose so that the rifle squashes down into it but I can make it firmer by...

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

Currently our blanket rule for the entire match is " equipment allowed is rifle, bipod and 1 bag unless otherwise stated". I allow a sling and rail stop(s) as part of the rifle, but that is where it becomes clouded. If a stage involves other gear such as a tripod, then it is supplied so that...

PRS Talk How much gear should be allowed?

It seems every day there's a new piece of equipment made for precision rifle type matches and as Frank has said, if you design a stage, people will try to beat it. For example, barricade stops on arca rails or the Gray Ops bag rider thing, which I'm sure are well made and effective, but not...
