Gunsmithing Tools needed to install Daniel Defense 7.62 Lite Rail on Armalite AR 10 T

I can't say what it'll take to get the Armalite tube off without seeing it, but I have a few DD Lite rails. When I ordered the rails I had to specify either Armalite or DPMS barrel nuts, and so it will come with whatever one you mention, but I had to purchase the barrel nut wrench (that's...

    Question about the TRG

The TRG trigger assembly has a small plunger that engages upward into the bolt body when you 'safe' it; that's why you can't open the bolt with the safety 'on' with the TRGs. If your safety is working fine without the bolt in the rifle but fails once the bolt is replaced, I'd check to ensure...

    Gunsmithing images from Hawkeye?

Re: images from Hawkeye? At one point in time a few years ago I purchased a kit from them that came with a camera adapter and a Sony digital camera. I've never been able to get good-quality images out of it. I would hope that their new systems are better...

    Brownell's Pmag Backorders?

Re: Brownell's Pmag Backorders? I called Brownells today just to check in on a few orders, one of them being for some 30 round Gen3 windowed PMags. The lady on the phone told me that the backorder on these is 54,000 right now. I also have some of their standard USGI mags w/ CS springs on...

    Nightforce Unimount

Re: Nightforce Unimount Here is one on a Sako TRG-22. The Sako has a factory 0MOA rail glued and pinned to the action, so the easiest route to get some scope elevation was to go with a Nightforce 'High' (1.125") mount with 20 MOA elevation. Simple fix and it seems to work well even though I...

    AI Adjustable Butt plate

Re: AI Adjustable Butt plate For what it's worth, Surgeon Rifles also makes an adjustable butt plate for the AI. I have one on an AICS and really like it. However, it's only adjustable up/down but locks up very solid due to the crossbolt and dovetail slot they use...

Rifle Scopes Problem zeroing scope - elevation bottomed out

Re: Problem zeroing scope - elevation bottomed out I use the Badger Ordnance 1.49" mounts on a few 308 ARs; they're the perfect height for me on that platform. In my opinion, I think they'd be a bit high on a bolt gun. For what it's worth, here's a picture of my Sako TRG22 and a Nightforce...

    Gunsmithing Bedding an AICS? Hmmmmm?

Re: Bedding an AICS? Hmmmmm? I have a Surgeon Scalpel they built on their 591 action and an AICS. For what it's worth, when the rifle arrived I noticed they bedded the rear tang. I hadn't even thought to talk to them about bedding an AICS...it must be SOP there.
