    Suppressors 13/16 -20 thread adspter

Carbon fiber barrel, not sure if rethreading is an option. Local place I use for rethreading does not work on them.

Have a Volquartsen 22 and barrel is threaded 13/16-20. Anyone make an adapter to 1/2-28?

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

I stand by that. I would avoid using them, states exactly I would avoid them, not do not shoot them. If you are going to shoot them, then use caution. I still have not seen you post anything showing they are safe, besides saying you used them for years. Please post up some info showing there...

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

I have reloaded a lot of cast 158 gr swc in 38 and 357. Used to shoot a lot of PPC and the only way I was able to afford it was cast lead bullets. This is one reason I am worried about what I breath when I shoot. I stopped shooting cast lead 20 years ago when i found out I had elevated lead in...

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

If you burn a polymer it will go black. if you fast burn a polymer it ablates and sublimates (goes directly from solid to gas) and you do not see black. Just because you do not see the degradation does not mean it does not happen. I do not have powdercoated bullets but will run this test for...

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

Lead does not give you cancer. Benzene, phenol... will. Both are liberated by the thermal decomposition of powdercoating. When people said cigarettes gave you cancer, most smokers said the same thing, but in the end, no one disagrees with it. I hope you have good ventillation when you...

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

So their is a nice paper published that talks about toxic thermal decomposition products of both Polyester TGIC and Epoxy powder coatings. The paper used Thermogravametry/ Differential Thermal Analysis analysis (heat it up and see the phase changes and decomposition). then they run it through...

Powder coating bullets, toxic decomposition products

I posted up in another thread about how powdercoating bullets can lead to toxic decomposition products. Another member called me out saying I was full of it... I do not want to publish my name but if a mod wants I will give it to him and a quick google search will prove my credentials. So lets...

Heavy bullet subsonic .357 mag for integrally suppressed rifle

Please prove it scientifically (via PM so we do not clog up this thread). I will then respond with my data via PM. Then we can post up here what is correct.

Heavy bullet subsonic .357 mag for integrally suppressed rifle

I would avoid powdercoating bullets, under combustion the coating degrades into very toxic carcinogenic chemicals. Read the sds for the coating and look up combustion products. Using and baking the powdercoat also contains toxic materials. I am a chemist and have been inventing paint for 35...

Is lvl 4 armor worth it?

I thought a great deal about plates. 3,3+,4... And decided on 3+ plates that stop M80, M855, M193 and 7.62x39 ap. They weigh half as much as level 4 and if someone hits me with a 30-06 AP round it is a risk I would take. The adage is a plate that stops most rounds and one you wear is better than...

Suppressors Ported Integrally suppressed Barrels (shoot horrible?)

Have not shot my 77/357 yet (picked it up yesterday). Will let you know. Curious why an integral suppressor would shoot worse than a normal one.

The barrel blank was Shilen, and the guarantee sub MOA accuracy. Waiting on some scope mounts, and then off to the range.

Heavy bullet subsonic .357 mag for integrally suppressed rifle

That 143 db can is made for .50 (not BMG, Bowers Vers 50) so has a big hole at the end so does not suppress anything smaller than 44 well but works great with 45 on up. I bought it for my 500 beowolf AR, which I no longer have, but sometimes run it on other rifles, often on the rifles of hunters...

Heavy bullet subsonic .357 mag for integrally suppressed rifle

Media is hogs. 2 of 3 0.358 Sierra hotcor I recovered mushroomed. The third that did not mushroom hit bone and bent (I suspect is was not completely stabilized and was yawing when it hit bone. I am not saying full mushroom but definitely wider than bore. I normally hunt hogs in warmer weather (I...

Heavy bullet subsonic .357 mag for integrally suppressed rifle

Thanks, I load my 358 win with 250 grain sierra hotcor for my FAL and ar10. I get a bit of expansion at 1100 fps. Being in the Houston area means sea level so 1100 is still subsonic by a bit. I have considered casting and a 220-230 pure lead. It should expand nicely at 1100 fps in my 77/ 357...
