Interest in firing pin bushing service for AI rifles

If you aren't blowing primers with that it isn't going to happen. That is extremely hot. Has to be close to 80k psi.

Interest in firing pin bushing service for AI rifles

Bushing them isn't a problem. Not sure why most of the gunsmiths won't. If you used a fitted bushing and carbide tooling its just like any other job. My 6.5x47 AW is bushed.

    Gunsmithing Lathe Decision

What Sharp told me is they all list 1.25'' because there is a collet pin, separate from the closer, that you have to take out to make it 1.375''. Mikee Booshay on here uses a Hardinge with the pin removed and has 1.375'' as well....

    Gunsmithing Lathe Decision

I believe they do have a 1-3/8'' when you remove the whole collet assembly. At least my Sharp clone does.

How are the Bighorn actions holding up?

They are as reliable as anything else out there.

    AIAW- AE Dislikes?

Bushing it is always an aftermarket option. You just have to find a smith that will do it for you. I have a bushed firing pin on my AW.

Accuracy International AT vs. Desert Tactical Arms SRS - Need Help Understanding

This post hits my experience with DTA on the head. One little issue after the other until I just wanted to sell the damn thing to quit messing with it.

New GAP Bravo 6 Delta Ships out today...

George, How many rounds did Chase have on his when it went south during the finale? Seems like it was a lot less than 3,000 from what I heard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Perfect Rifle For PRS

You're not the exception. I am in 100% agreement with what you have found. I've messed with a bunch of them, and in my experience sooner or later they will fail in a 700 clone. The reliability of the AICS mags outweighs any perceived benefits an AW mag could provide.

    Accuracy International Trigger Adjustments

You can adjust the AW triggers down to feel very nice. I'm not a fan of how they feel from the factory and have shot thousands of rounds through mine that has been adjusted down. And Blackbrush is correct in that the AX can not be adjusted down nearly as far as the AW.

Rifle Scopes IOR Recon 4-28x50 40mm tube

This is incorrect. Here is a quote pulled from a highly respected and highly educated source on the subject. "A larger tube does not by itself have any direct effect on image quality. It does give the the optical designer a little more space to work with which makes high zoom ratios and other...

Which is best..........Brux, Rock, or Krieger?

Krieger or Brux, then Rock Creek. I personally like Brux a lot after building on them. Over a decent sample size the tend to be some of the straightest blanks made, and I also like the fact that a lot of their barrels are 4 grooves. Thats a whole different topic though.

Not necessarily. You should use a go gauge instead of factory brass.

surgeon remedy XL .338 Lapua First load

Just shoot the load you found. Your chronograph is probably off enough that it could be +/- 25 FPS. Who gives a shit about 2800 FPS anyway. It is completely meaningless.

RUM case in AI long mag?

It will fit, but you will have to seat the bullet a long way down into the case.

    Bedding + aluminum bedding blocks??

I've also had rifles that I could put in a v-block chassis and would shoot well. However, if I'm going to put the effort into practicing, taking off time, and traveling to a match I'm going to eliminate any variable that could cause a zero shift, or any other for that matter, and undoubtedly a...

    Bedding + aluminum bedding blocks??

As in removing stress from the system can never be considered a negative. If you pillar bedded a stock would you be happy with .185'' of stress? I know if it has more than .002'' I'm not happy with it.
