    Barrel length for 338 Lapua at ELR

    2720fps with factory Lapua 300 Scenar ammo from a 24.5" barrel. You can easily hit 2750 with Retumbo handloads. I've run .338s in everything from an 18.5" to a 27.5" and the 24" is the best of everything. I would never go longer, but I hate long barrels in general.

    Rifle Scopes 2.5-10x32 FFP Vortex PST and Recoil any field experience on this model yet ?

    I have been running one on my .308 gas gun for a while. I really like it. Light enough & small enough, but still gives good performance. I don't think the smaller 32mm Obj is the greatest idea, but if does help keep the weight down at least. I've ordered more of them.

    Range Report 338 lapua range day h1000 vs retumbo

    Best results with Retumbo and 300gr Bergers has been from 90.5 to 91.5 in several CIP-chambered rifles. 2710-2730 mv from 24.5" barrels. 5" of vertical at 1000y.

    New Tikka Sporter in .260

    For reference, I get 2975fps from a 22" using H4350 and a 123 Scenar. That's above book, but book is only 57,000PSI in many cases so that's totally irrelevant.
