    I ordered a Shilen two months ago but it is custom and will take a little longer. I wanted the 4 grove rachet rifling because the one I have now is so amazing. Jim is a great guy.

    Now my barrel is plugged and filled to the top with Kroil oil and I will let it soak all night. I am going to run some patches thru it in the am and go to the range and do some "slow firing"Maybe I have over cleaned it?

    Iam having the same thing happen with my LRP 6.5 CM.The barrel gets hot way to fast. I have tried 9 types of ammo. I have a shilen barrel coming but I would like to know. I have tried 45-60 seconds between shoots also.

    I have bought two savage barrels from Jim Briggs, he is a great guy. Both are shilen[[I was testing at the range yesterday and shot a ".780 inch group at 300Y with my .223 wylde shilen barrel]

    There are a few 1/9 barrels that shot can shot a 69 smk good enough.I have a Colt Match H bar that came with a 20" 1/8 bull and it is a 1/2 ' gun[made in 1998 or 9.]A 20" .223 Wylde chamber will work. {longer is better}

    I shoot a savage .223 in F-class.[it even shoots good at 1000Y]I put a shilen 1/8 wilde, 26 varmit barrel on it and converted it to single load. It shoots 77/80 well; I have done good shooting BH 77 reloads at some matchs.I would get a wilde barrel at least 20" min.

    I shoot a savage with a Shilen 8 Wylde barrel at 1000 yards; it shoots better than me. 80G SMK shoot well out to 1000Y.

    F T/R Competition Anybody using an Atlas Bipod for F-TR?

    I have used the Harris,Atlas and Centershot; now I use the Centershot all the time.I like to lightly load the bipod so I don't do it right but it works.The bipod moves right a little on recoil so I need to make a couple of changes.

    I shoot F-class with a 10-50 sightron; I always use the 50 power, even in the heat.
