Sidearms & Scatterguns Reassembling help with Zero Tolerance 301

Looks like I figured it out. The problem was that when I tightened it to the point of removing any play in the blade it wouldn't flick open. A little oil on the copper washers seems to have solved it.

    Long Range M1A/M14 loads (600 yds +)

I've done some research on what the Marines and AMU tinkered with regarding M14 accuracy and it does seem to change throughout the years. One thing that comes to mind is the National Match grooved piston that was tried and abandoned by the Marine Corp in the early 70's. For what its worth, the...

    Long Range M1A/M14 loads (600 yds +)

Good info Sigma thanks. I never paid much attention to lubricating between the stock ferrule and bottom band lip. Makes perfect sense though. Ive researched the numerous gas plug options out there, including the schuster. Might give it a try at a later date.

    Long Range M1A/M14 loads (600 yds +)

Most of us know that there are better platforms out there for shooting a .308 bullet out past 600 yards but I like the challenge. There is already lots of info out there for loads out to 600 yards thanks to the Highpower shooting community. I was hoping to see examples of what others are using...

    Federal Brass Sucks

On the contrary i havent experienced these issues. I was up to 8 or 9 reloads out of a batch of federal brass i reloaded for my bolt gun before i switched calibers and stopped using it. For my M1A i get four firings out of federal brass before I see impending signs of case head seperation...

    60 Gr. VMAX Powder Help

I bought a bunch of Vihtavuori 135 a while back because it was readily in stock when I couldn't find any RL-15. I'm glad I did because this stuff shoots great in my AR's (on par with the RL-15) and now I have another alternative in times of scarcity. It meters about the same as the RL-15...

Want todays component prices to look REALLY bad? Oct 2000 MidwayUSA sale flyer...

It wouldnt be so bad if wages had kept pace but they haven't unfortunately. Its the dreaded return of "Stagflation" (bad economy/droping wages and rising cost of living/inflation) In other words its the kryptonite of the U.S. economy and the Fed can literally do nothing to control it. A sign...

    Which Seating Die?

My experience is the same. I owned a Redding and had parts break on the inside of it. I replaced it with a Forster Ultra Micrometer Seating Die and never looked back. I now have one for every rifle caliber I reload. It seems better designed to me as well and I like the larger knob with...

.223 Black Hills 77gr SMK Clone load?

I'm shooting the same setup for my XTC competitions (A2 White Oak upper, 20 inch 1/7 twist Wylde chamber barrel) I use 24 grains of Reloader 15 with the 77 grain SMKs. It's an excellent load that will hold the X-ring if I do my part.
