    Trainers? I'm Clueless

Love my Savage, but I also know and accept it for what it is. At 50 the majority of my 5 shot group are ragged dime sized holes. And when I stretch to 200 it owns clays, most of yhe time. All with a POS Centerpoint scope and factory crap stock. Not a comp winner, but good enough for what I want...

Hunting & Fishing Long shots on game - what are people resting off?

Really depends on terrain and when an opportunity presents. I have bipods on my rifles, but also learned the hard way that is better to use my body or other improvised natural rest. Hell, I have used my binos as rest with the caps on stood on end. React, adapt, and overcome. Eric

    How about a gardening thread?

Thanks for all this good info. I have been thinling about a garden, when we get out of the swamp and back to a state with dirt. Some part time homesteading to off set rising food costs. Eric

    LRRPs in Vietnam

My Dad, God rest him, used to talk about going on LRRP's. He never did talk much, but would on occasion. He was SF with Pathfinder and UDT quals. I remember his bdu's having his EIB, jumpmaster wings and Pathfinder badge. He did 3 tours and ended up with PH from each one. He was a stealthy ole...

    Appendix recovery?

I am a Cert. Surgical Tech. so I opted for the open. My reasoning is that laparoscopic requires three incisions, one below the belly button(about the same size as the one open incision) and two smaller incisions above and below. Plus they blow you up like a balloon withCO2 gas which has its own...

    Appendix recovery?

Any of you guys had you appendix taken, and how long was you recoveey time? Woke up with bad gut pain 0130 today and it stuck with me until going to work at 0630. Long story short, had an old fashioned open appendectomy this aftwrnoon. Post op pain is mild and I am walking around 5 hours after...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns IDPA ?'s

Yeah been thinking of ditching the Serpa for awhile, like the thought of the longer guns for the sight radius, but also like to practice how I play, and am on a pretty tight budget with two babies in the house. Will definatly look into some of the mentioned options. Thanks, and keep 'em...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns IDPA ?'s

Do any of you guys compete, and what do you run for gear? I just finished a intro class and qualifier this past weekend, and think it might be something to help develop my pistol skills. Right now I've got a G22 with factory sights, and a Blackhawk Serpa. Am looking to pick up a G17 or 19, and...

    Boyd's Tacticool centerfire?

Is it in fact laminated or a solid like I have heard the rimfire is? Shouldn't a laminated piece be a little harder, less prone to dents and dings? Thanks, Eric

    Lost Posts / Full Membership

Yeah lost 1000ish post count, no biggie. But I also lost all of my posts from my profile history. The only thing I have is my filled out profile and my join date. Was this pretty common with the site changes? And thanjs for a kickass site, regardless of some snafus. Eric

    Boyd's Tacticool centerfire?

Anyone have hands on one of these? Website says it is laminated with an elevated comb and two front studs. For $100, wont be bad addition to my pig hunter, if its worth a damn. Any input appreciated. Eric

    Training Courses SouthNarc - 2.5 ECQC - 6 Dec 2013 - Naples, FL

Don't know about the course, but the facility and its cadre are good to go. I attended their first class last year, McPhee's pistol/carbine class, and just finish my NRA RSO certification there last week. Improves everytime I am there. Eric

    Camelback ?'s

Arma, You make some valid points, and I like the terminology.lol The pack is desert camo with a Thermobak 3L tag. I don't know much that bleach wont kill, but peace of mind of a new bladder shouldn't cost more than $50 or so, still putting me under cost of a new one. Thanks for the replies...
